My husband and I ate here one evening. I ordered the Lobster Bisque. I've eaten Lobster Bisque several times in my life and know exactly what it should taste like. Theirs is terrible. Maybe it was an off night for it, however, it was EXTREMELY sweet! I know that lobster meat is naturally sweet, also they put lump crab in... More

While this area pretty much has no on street parking available, they do have a valet here. I was able to park in Washington park and make the short walk over. This place is pretty nice. The bar doesn't give much room to hang out around it while remaining out of the waitstaffs way, though. We had our holiday party... More

This restaurant was voted number 1 in the capital district several years ago. Finally had the opportunity to try it, and the food did not disappoint. We shared a fried goat cheese salad with balsamic reduction dressing which was quite good. My halibut dinner was very tasty, but the accompanying vegetables were cool and very crisp. I was told that... More

An absolute charming retro restaurant which kept the atmosphere of some time ago. We were the first guests for dinner and were not in a hurry, so the chef and his staff could have put a nice effort and their pride in preparing our meal. The starters were not creating any issue issue, oysters and lobster bisque. The soup was... More

Over the last several years, people had always commented that one of the best restaurants in Albany was McGuire's on Stste Street. Great food, great steaks and bring plenty of money. Well, it was a disappointment. There was one steak selection (filet) on the menu, but one special strip steak for that day. Don't get me wrong, the filet was... More

By far the second best place I have ever eaten Filet Mignon. Very attentive staff. Would def. recommend it and would eat there again when we're at the Morgan State House.

This restaurant definiely has a charm to it. Fairly small , the first room is taken up almost entirely by a beautiful old bar area on one side and booths for dining on te other side. There is also a back room which has a few tables and is open to the kitchen area. The latter is the place to... More

Draft beer is plentiful and the service is excellent. Locals crowd this pub that is full of history and very cozy.

I always order this as a half portion and I am never disappointed. Cozy bar and fantastic food at this tastefully updated bar/restaurant from days gone by in the historic section of Albany.

If it's a really great meal you are looking for with a standard for high quality and some pleasant creative enhancements on standards in a wonderful intimate, cozy and welcoming environment, then Mcquire's is the place to go. The dinner is not the cheapest in town, but it you're never going to get really great cuisine cooked with care and... More
