We stayed a block away and the wine bar was suggested. Friendly greeting and we were impressed with the wonderfully restored building. Very intimate. Not just an amazing Wine Spectator endorsed wine list, but nice beers on tap! Food was imaginative and nicely presented. We will go back whenever we visit Albany.

My wife and I had a date night and we ventured to try a new place. This place had the perfect cozy atmosphere perfect to have great wine and be able to have a great conversation! The staff is fantastic and very knowledgable!!!...The price is a bit on the high side but well worth it!

Grilled diver scallops were out of this world! One of my favorite restaurants in the Capital District. Cozy atmosphere, great food. You also must try the braised lamb shank... excellent!

The Wine Bar and Bistro is a gem. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and a neat function of their wait staff is that no single server 'owns' a table; rather everyone helps one another out. Some patrons may find this style less appealing as it may not allow for a more intimate relationship with their server, but I... More

A charming little place, warm and friendly, with excellent food. The pork cheeks served over garlic lentils and chard were wonderful as was the free range chicken main followed by the Barbarone dessert (so good!). We only had 2 nights in Albany and let so lucky to find this restaurant. The wine list was also excellent.

Masterful food and wine pairings. Everything is reasonably priced, and an extreme value proposition given the quality. A creative, ever changing menu with a kitchen that employs exciting cutting edge techniques means that none of my frequent visits have been alike. In my opinion the best dining in Albany, a perfect "regular" dining spot for locals and a true "find"... More

5 stars for this bistro! One huge problem. I was on a romantic first date and the waitress kept coming over to our table and flirting with my date. She was cute and of course he didnt want to be rude. She was attentive but to the point where it was annoying. In the future, you dont need to check... More

This restaurant serves great food and has a reasonable wine selection. The service was attentive but not bothersome. Sit outside in the patio if you can. The restaurant does not take reservations so you may want to get there early. The bar has limited seating also so it's not like you will want to wait for an hour to get... More

What a lovely evening - it started with our walk up hill from 74 State Street and ended with a gem of a find with the Wine Bar and Bistro. Restaurant was full inside so we elected to eat on the patio. Even though we are from Texas and it was a chily fall night in NY, the patio was... More

Cozy restaurant; outside and indoor seating; nice selection of appetizers. The wine was average and the dessert selection was limited. No milk so no coffee either. Main courses were decent but uneven.
