We loved our meal at Johnny Cool's. It's a really lovely, chilled out place, where everyone sits around a communal table. The owner, Manu, is the smiliest, most charming man you will meet in Varkala and you will forgive the 3 hour wait for your food!

Gotta agree with the review before me.... you probably will never wait longer for your food! But man it is worth it! We were there quite a while ago and after trying here and there we ended up to only eat here for two weeks... nothing else compared to the delicious food and the shanti atmosphere!
You will maybe wait longer that you ever wait for a meal or dinner :) But owner do it with so big smile that you will foget about it, and remember, you are on holidays so relax. Everything I eat here was great, from fish, to pasta, chease cake... and best dark chocolate pankcakes I ever had in my whole...

I know Johnny Cool's Café from my last visit to Varkala. Manu, the chef, is an amazing cook. He does delicious Indian food, but also continental style. Fresh fish with vegetables, lovely dals and currys, and if you fancy, the most amazing cakes... cheesecake, brownies and he has delicious coffee, too...
