Great place for a snack, during any season. The food is very good and the desserts even better. It's highly accessible because of its location, in the heart of the town.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Festival '39 restaurant. We returned for food three times in our week-long visit, once for breakfast and twice for dinner. For dinner the first time, we ordered the Festival '39 salad with beef, and the spinach stuffed turkey with risotto. The salad was really good, it was very fresh and the beef was... More
The greatness of this place is definitely in the decor and ambiance. Full Belle Époque splendour. A little smokey at any time of day to really enjoy the food, but that's pretty common in Romania. The food is pretty good. We went a few times and tried a few different dishes. It's nothing to write home about, but you probably... More
The atmosphere is taking you to the Bucharest in the early 90's. The food is tasty; the atmosphere is great and the waiters are friendly. The price is resonable for the location and for that service. I would definately go there again.
The atmosphere and the old style really tend to take you in the past . We liked the feeling . The food is great and the menu has a few courses that you will not find in another restaurant in Brașov. Try the gratinated cheese pancakes for dessert :) . They are really good !
We found this place by chance walking on the main boulevard. Even it did not look so great in the beginning (the place was nearly empty on SAT at around 7PM), we were hungry enough to take a seat and look at the menu. The look at the menu was not so easy as anybody can expect, cause the place... More
Very nice decor and atmosphere. This place simply has a soul and a history. A good variety of breakfast menues to choose from. And, again, the interior design, with old newspapers and photos, the saloon like chairs - all that makes you feel in a special way. I always eat here in the morning or drink coffee when in town
We were recently encouraged to go along to Festival 39 in the old city of Brasov. On arrival, we were shown to a balcony overlooking the main restaurant. This was a great place to enjoy the vibrancy and atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu is a little confusing, until we realised the 'red' writing was in English, which made things... More
Inside is a vintage atmosphere, very classy and fancy. Food is very good and tasty, a little above average price for Brasov, but worth it. If you want to go on weekends or when there is live concerts ,its better to book a few days before. A small advice, you should try "GULAS" ,it's a hungarian soup, very spicy:) The... More
Four of us had dinner there in Sept 2013. The menu is very extensive, with pages of choices from many styles of cuisine in addition to Romanian. It even has photos (accurate) to help make choices. The decor is coffee-house funky, with a nice balcony in addition to the main floor. Service was good. Most importantly, the food was quite... More
