La esquina is in one of cuenca's best locations, and has clearly had a lot of thought gone into the branding and experience. The place is always busy, which is testament to the good value meals and wine list. Most of the dishes are served on disks to share, the meat is generally good and aged (rare for this country)... I always have the chicken simple dish. love the flat potatoes and shrimp dishes. My husband love this restaurant too. When we are not sure where we want to eat, we go here, knowing the dishes are large, tasty and filling.

We had the beef in a mushroom sauce for 2 ppl. It was the best meat since a long time! The service is great and the location could not be better!

One of the most expensive places to eat in Cuenca, but you'll get more than you can eat, so you can take it home with you. We had the mixed grill which came with veggies and potatoes which filled us to the brim both for dinner and breakfast the next day! - yesmads.com

What a delicious meal! The steaks were superb. I had some excellent red wine with dinner. The prices were reasonable.

Originally, I was going to Tiesto's and someone told me to try this restaurant instead. I also read an article saying that the chef at this place is a mentor of the chef at Tiesto's. I ordered Argentinian style beefsteak and it was delicious. One order easily serves two people. The salad was too salty for me. Next time, I... More

Just stumbled onto this place last night and we could not have done better for tender beef with a tasty Cabernet sauce. The skillet was full, mushrooms plentiful & tender and surrounded by crispy potato slices. Portions are sold for two but could easily feed four.

What a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. None of the staff speaks English, but basic español is enough to figure out what you want. Our chicken dish in a creamy vegetable sauce was more than we could eat. It could have served four. Even though it is on one of the busiest streets in the historic district, the... More

The menu seems pricey until you realize that one item officially serves two people (but our selection could easily have served four). Our dish verged on paella without the rice. It was abundant in succulent fresh seafood with a tomato base. Frankly, I was overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the seafood. It was far more than any two... More
