The first time we visited the Rusty Nail we we bowled over by the service, the food and the general ambiance of this restaurant, we couldn't fault it. Visit 2 was awful, the steak tough and unappetizing and I abandoned the dessert (apple pie) after one mouthful. Our third visit, this time accompanied by a friend who particularly wanted to... More

The Rusty Nail is a gastro pub with lots of outdoor seating, large trees, green expansive gardens, lots of sunshine and good food. The owners are a brother and sister team and they do an amazing job of welcoming guests. The staff are good and has to be one of the best gastro pubs I have ever visited. Drop in... More

The presentation and climate invites always to enjoy the meals from a variety of courses that don't disappoint the most exigent palates. The old colonial cottage that host the restaurant has been decorated with simplicity and warmly. It has also a bar section that invite to watch football. The wine list is well prepare. You'll wont miss a good wine... More

I have been going to this restaurant for years. The ambience is excellent and the food and service are just superb. Very reasonable prices. Not to be missed. Safe and ample car parking too. More

Rusty Nail is nested in a nice house surrounded by a lovely garden. The food is nice, but not exceptionnal. It is located very close to Talisman, the other old, big restaurant in the leafy, former British colonial neighborhood in Karen. If you ask internationals living in Nairobi, half will tell you they prefer Talisman and half they prefer Rusty... More

This is a beautiful little gem tucked back off of the road. A wonderful place to linger over drinks, but I wouldn't recommend eating here. I ordered a veggie platter: roast veggies, pumpkin in cream, samosas, and a terrine that was akin to a cold slab of bechamel with peppers. Everything was cold, the veggies were overcooked and unappealing. My hubs... More
