A good option in Nairobi for good food. Avoid the salads and veggie dishes - this is kenya. All the meat and fish dishes were very good, on a number of occasions. And its not crazy expensive. The Mall in Westands looks like dodgy area but its OK. Get the Dawah cocktail - mmm. Is paet of the Tamarind chain... More

We loved coming here for their drinks (Dawas - which means "medicine" in Swahili) and live music. They also offered hookah from a hookah shop nearby. Additionally their spinach and camembert samosas are AMAZING! I came time after time for those and a cocktail. It's a good stop if you are waiting for a movie or wanting to chill out.... More

I love this place. The food is great, the waiters give just the right level of attentivness. But when you get your bill you get charged 25% more than you were expecting. The taxes are added to your bill... the menu doesn't include it. YES it's in the small print on the bottom of the menu, but it's still a... More

The foods are great! Our group ordered the Kenyan Oysters Mambrui and they are so delicious. Our steaks are also great. My 300 grams entrecôte is very tender, nicely aged. The pepper sauce is quite disappointing though, but good thing that they put it on the side so I just enjoy my steak with butter. We finished up with dessert,... More

Tamambo is owned by the same group as Carnivore, it is a solid place. Food is good and service is fine, on the negative it can be said that the prices are higher than they should and it is a bit touristic. They concentrate on expats and visiting foreigners so you will not see real Kenya if you go there.... More

Our tour group stopped here for lunch. We had a set menu where we had some choices. The soup that day was good. A huge salad followed and then a big entree. I had the vegetarian option and it was very tasty. The popular dessert choice with our group was the ice cream sundae but I had the sorbet and... More

This is a great place to sit down for a nice cold Tusker in the afternoon, or one of their great cocktails - try the Dawa! They often have live music on the weekends, and the outside patio is a nice touch. However, their menu is rather overpriced when compared to similar establishments, and the quality of the food rather... More

This is a wonderful restaurant. The food is absolutely stunningly delicious and inventive. Try the Kachos (Kenyan Nachos)! Or for a serious treat enjoy succulent oysters. Mmmm. The location is at one end of Village Market mall, up on the top floor. There is an inside area which has a warm and hip ambience. Outside seating is on the patio... More
