In the cut throat restaurant market of Punta del Este, where many restaurants are only alive for one season, Lo de Tere has survived and continues to thrive. Perfectly situated seaside on the peninsula, on the way to El Puerto de Punta Del Este, Lo de Tere is really a gem and stands out as the best. They have a... More

Had to wait one day to come here, as they were fully booked last night, what means something, as we are in the low season. Food was good. Meat was perfectly cooked, but the potato cake was cold in the middle. Dessert (Citricos) was a very nice mixture of citric flavors. Not cheap, but considered the price fair.

The restaurant has a good vibe, the music is lounge oriented. The service is outstanding, they really know how to treat a guest. My husband had the pork, it was tasty but over cooked and a tad dry. I had the rack of lamb, same story. The dessert was outstanding. Get there early, be one of the first four people... More

Sometimes when you don't expect too much, you get too much. This is what happened to us in this restaurant. Being European/Belgian foreigners with less than a 100 words of spanish between our ears, we were greeted and seated as if we were family. We asked for a bottle of Chardonnay, and there it was, not too expensive, with the... More

We went to Lo de Tere once more, it is one of the classics here in Punta, but altough the nhoquis are still great, we felt that there was a slight difference in quality between the different dishes we ordered, comparing to our last visit. Still, it is worth a visit, the menu offers some local cuisine classics with a... More

We were told that this would be the best restaurant in Punta del Este, but it seems far from it. The food was quite good, but the atmosphere was very much old fashioned, with no air conditioning. Service was very nice as well, but the overall rating could not be more than average.

Our first night in Punte the hotel recommended this restaurant. We got a little lost getting there and arrived very late for our reservation. The hosts were lovely and sat us within 15 minutes, despite it being very crowded. There were mostly locals, or at least people who always vacation in Punte, at the restaurant. All nine people in our... More

I am uruguayan and my american husband cannot leave Punta without our customary romantic dinner at Lo de Tere. The food was delicious, utterly reliable in its excellent quality, spectacular flavors and interesting presentation. Service is very good without being intrussive. We sat inside as it was quite warm, and the A/C worked really well. This time I also took... More

We had a terrific view for people watching, while enjoying a great lunch, fine wines and excellent service. Pricey, but well worth the tasty and eye appealing chef's creations with a fine Uruguayan wine.
