Description: An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Changing daily, the dishes on the menu reflect the produce that's in season and bought fresh from the markets every day. Start with a drink on our roof terrace with spectacular views of the ancient medina of Fes, then dine in our courtyard restaurant. Decorated with colourful zellij tiling, carved cedar wood, a beautiful hand-painted bartal and intricate plaster, the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. In the winter, reserve a table for two next to our open fire, and in the summer be cooled by the splashing sound of the central fountain. Adding to the romantic setting is the attentive but discreet service. Allow us to transport you to a world of fine cuisine for the evening. We look forward to welcoming you to Dar Roumana.

Dar Roumana has a small intimate restaurant set in a stunning courtyard surrounded by fabulous Morrocan architecture. It is a picture perfect setting. The food cooked by Vincent was wonderful, using fresh ingredients he buys from the market everyday. I had the salmon which was cooked to perfection. The service is fantastic and Mohammed is very helpful. If you want... More

Moroccan food is fabulous, but when you want a break from tagines and couscous for a night, the best place to dine in Fes is the restaurant at Dar Roumana. Set in the stunningly-beautiful inside courtyard of the Riad, the restaurant is both intimate and elegant. The food is French, with Moroccan flavors, and the menu is creative and the... More

It does not get much better than this! Eating beautiful food in beautiful surroundings with excellent service was a great start to our holiday. We also ate in the riad again later that week but this time a meal cooked by the housekeeper. Both meals stunning but very different. I echo previous reviewers ecstacy over the creme brulee!

We ate twice in Dar Roumana, once a dinner that was sort of a mixture of Morrocan and Mediterranean cooking and another time a traditional Morrocan dinner (it is served on Mondays). We enjoyed both of them immensely, also for the reason that the small restaurant is located in a beautiful central yard of a riad. If you care for... More

While the dining room in the restored traditional courtyard is one of the most elegant spaces we’ve seen in Morocco, the food falls short of what a good French chef should produce. The limited menu offers a selection of primarily French starters and mains. We tasted the artichoke salad, roasted tomato soup, the monkfish with leeks and the John Dory... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments and we're delighted you loved the desserts and found the restaurant good value. I recall the night you were here as the service was slow, and it was memorable for me as it doesn't happen very often! By way of explanation, the chef is alone in the kitchen and when all the tables... More

The excellent quality of the food was matched by charming service and a wonderful setting. The tables are far enough apart to be private but close enough to chat to your fellow diners. Something for most palates and the crème brulee is spectacular. Ate at 5 other venues and Dar Roumana although not cheap is definitely value for money

Vincent is a highly skilled Chef, who is not to be missed. We ate there the first night and continued to talk about it for the remainder of the 2 week trip. The menu will surprise you with combinations and flavours. Whether it was fish, steak.... vegetables, you will be surprised with its presentation and flavours. The creme de brule... More

I highly recommend having dinner at Dar Roumana. While we didn't stay at this gorgeous riad--by far the most beautiful of several we visited throughout Morocco--we ate two dinners prepared by their French chef. The food was of the highly quality and the beautiful surroundings definitely enhanced the experience. Truly, you can expect a fantastic dining experience you will never... More

Beautiful atmosphere and excellent food. After days of non stop tagines, we were delighted to find an eclectic seasonal set menu reflecting local cuisine with a twist. Impeccable service, accompanied door to door, and a fireplace to sit near after our meal with the last glass of wine.

A friend and I very much enjoyed our three course meal at Dar Rouman. Chef Vincent's menu was creative and delicious and exquisitely presented. Our waiter became a favorite of ours: he was welcoming and attentive. Co-owner Vanessa stopped by several times to make sure we were happy with everything. The ambiance was delightful and the restaurant was filled with... More
