Service was friendly and prompt; the food creative, plentiful and tasty; and the decor charming! The only thing that disappointed was the view: it was billed as looking out on the bay, which it does... across a large parking lot. It's technically "on the pier," but the water is hardly right outside the window. However, by the end of the...

We ordered a burger and the chile verde. It took forever for us to get our food. There was only a few people in the place, and it took 45 minutes to be served, and the food was cold. Wouldn't go out of my way to go there again....
At the Avila pier and obviously caters to fishermen. Very large portions of good food. We had breakfast on this visit and it was good and plentiful and reasonably priced.
Meal was a bit overpriced. Service friendly. Not really worth it. But the view was nice and you can sea lions
Our routine stop in Avila Beach. Good food, friendly staff, and a nice view of the harbor from outside seating. The loaded fish tacos were tasty, and my wife enjoyed her scallops, although they were slightly over cooked. Value for the money is there, and the margaritas were nicely prepared. Generous portions of food...smiling staff, good service.
Small restaurant at the beginning of the pier. Inside and outside seating. Good and reasonably priced.
This is just the kind of restaurant you would hope to find in an area as beautiful as Port San Luis Pier at Avila. The setting is true Harbor with a great camping area for family vacations. They make you feel welcome, serve good food with lots of smiles.
The clam chowder is really good at Fat Cats and well worth getting. The tuna melt and burgers were nothing special and the $3.95 lemonade tasted like it was powder based. The location by the beach is nice and probably makes up for some of the other deficiencies but we won't go back.
Breakfast was an enjoyable experience with friendly people, large potions and good food. The homey atmosphere added to the effect.
