We had long wanted to go to Komi but getting reservations is always a problem but I called 30 days in advance, early, and snagged the last spot last Saturday night at 9:15. It was well worth the wait. It is hard to describe how wonderful this place is. We took friends to have an early wedding celebration for them... More

Johnny Monis is a cooking god. Out of 14 courses, 5 were among the best I have ever eaten, and another 6 were outstanding. There was a barley salad that was just ok. The fried donut was good but not great. But everything else was terrific. Standouts include: sea bream, rabbit mousse, spanikopita, bay scallop, and roast pig. The chocolate... More

I wasn't able to get through to the reservation line myself, but the wonderful hotel concierge was able to secure a reservation. Komi has no menu. You simply tell your server any dietary restrictions and let the kitchen do the rest. Dinner consists of a journey of culinary surprises. Small bites and courses that continue, but don't overwhelm. We left... More

Having dined recently with degustation at aria in Brisbane, Degustation in Prague, and Moto in Chicago. Komi outdid them all. $100 less over person than moto .( with wine pairing) and with an excellent parade of food this is one to recommend to anyone with the funds. Loved it.

This is one of those restaurants without a menu. The ambience is simple but romantic. Basically, after you settle in and order beverages or wine, the wait staff starts bringing out one dish after another. Most are small plates, accompanied by an explanation from the server. Some of the dishes are finger foods. The only "substantial" dish is the main... More

My husband hates restaurants with tasting menus, but loves Greek food, so agreed to try it. Many of the courses were among the best things I've ever eaten, particularly the spanakopita with the liquid centre and the mackerel We had let them know we do not eat meat or shellfish, and they responded accordingly. Our main course was Mediterranean sea... More

I really wanted to give Komi a full five but I just felt like there was something lacking. Maybe it's the menu - (I suspect) it never changes, so is it just being phoned in??? You wouldn't know because it's not printed anywhere and photos are not allowed, but I did take notes. I think we counted about 17 courses,... More

A wonderful display of tastes, carefully and thoughtfully executed, and presented by knowledgeable and personable servers who are interested that guests are completely satisfied. My reduction of a fifth star is due to a combination of lack of ambience and a sense that the fixed menu is priced about $25 too high. Note that there are no menus here, so... More

Our visit to Komi was amazing, from start to finish. The staff made us feel so welcome, and the sommelier made excellent recommendations. I cannot even begin to describe the food, it was so delicious. We cannot wait for our next trip to DC so we can visit Komi again.

We had a very nice, very pleasant dining experience this week at Komi. Excellent service indeed and worth a good tip -from the first call for a reservation to the very accomodating wine staff (we hated some of the wine choices in the wine pairing and they switched them out). Nice, dynamic, engaging room (although the floorboards were going up... More
