Great food, efficient and fast service, very reasonable food at a convenient location. Ihave eaten here many times for lunch or dinner with friends, family, and business assciates and everyone came away full and happy. It's small and you have t onwalk up a few steps, but it's so very worth it.

I had read that this place won several awards and was recognized for great Chinese food at good prices so we put it on our itinerary. Sadly, this wasn't the place that it probably used to be. The food was decent but definitely nothing I'd go back for. The wonton soup was pretty bland and the rest was not even... More

This restaurant has a lot of awards on the walls... from 2003-2007. It seems things have gone hill since then. The food was very gray. Vegetables were meh, nooodles were OK, rice was overcooked, tofu was soggy, and service was average. Prices, though, were high. I won't be back.

We felt at home here as this place smells authentic and has typical cheap decor and older female staff who yell. The food is.good and reasonably priced. Chinese people eat here too. The Claypot chicken with ginger and scallions is delicious. Not a place for.romance but this was the best Chinese we've eaten in USA in 3 months.

A no-frills setting is offset by consistently great food! Almost always packed, this long-time favorite offers some of the best Chinese comfort food around. The menu is very varied, and they often offer specials (noted on the wall)--many quite authentic. A reliable and very satisfying lunch option.

We ducked in following while touring in the city with the kids and they wanted to go to a "real Chinese restaurant in Chinatown"... I warned them that it was Chinese restaurant geared to tourists so it was going to taste like our neighborhood Chinese if we were lucky. Otherwise, we could eat an "authentic" Chinese dish geared to Chinese... More

Popped into Eat First for lunch after walking all day at the National Mall. Service was quick and the restaurant was clean. I recommend the eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste- it was phenomenal! My hot n sour soup was tasty and although I thought my husband's hong kong-style wonton soup was a tad oily, he enoyed it. I've had better... More

We popped into Eat First for lunch. The menu has more traditional Chinese dishes--frog, duck, etc. It also has more American-Chinese fare. Our eggplant, bean curd and fish, as well as our beef and Chinese broccoli were all delicious. The beef was tender, and the fish was delectable. The only caution I have is that the food was liberally flavored... More

I love the chicken corn soup and non fried signature dishes they have. Good tea. At the end of the meal you get a fresh orange and fortune cookie.
