A must if you're in Picton... a vast array of delicious delicacies at reasonable prices. The only problem is there's so much to choose from!! I highly recommend the brunch buns :-)

What a selection..Pies..Pastries..Breads, cakes take away or eat here. Everything cooked on site. Always crowds waiting. Old fashioned plastic strip fly stoppers and good old fashioned baking to match. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Lovely ladies assisting and able to tell you all about the items on display. Don't miss it; this sort of bakery is going out of style...

We lunched from here prior to boarding the ferry and it was great. Fine pies and pastries and excellent tea. All consumed sitting in the sun on their outside benches. We'll definitely return.
The helpful staff here display great patience with us when we dither over which of the many yummy morsels we are going to get. Have been in a few times over the years and never been disappointed.
We visited this bakery twice, the food was so nice. It's very popular with travellers coming off the ferry at 6am but is ready with hot home made pies and other goodies - we had pies plus took pastries for the road. The second visit was on our way home again. Will visit next time in the south island.
The products look good and those that we had were quite good but not outstanding. The shop is very handily located right next to the Villa Backpackers. On 2 occasions we bought a variety of things - sandwiches, cakes and pasties and they were good value for what we got.
If you think that this damming with faint praise, you...

Mjammie so delicious you dont know what to choose! Had a tea and cinnemon donut with cream. It was heaven.
Stopped in here for coffees, breads, some cakes to share, as a treat while staying in Picton, based on the TA reviews. Its a sweet little Dutch pastry place, but in fact not anything to rave about. They do offer some interesting Dutch treats, and the cherry tart was pretty great. A little out of the way from the main...

The bakery had been recommended by a local so what we sampled was all the more disappointing. We found the Moroccan lamb pie dry, full of gristle, and with a soggy crust. The pastries were dry as well. Wait instead until you get to Nelson. Try the boysenberry brownie at the Sweet Sensations cafe: it's fantastic.

My personal favourite pie is the Morrocan Lamb, so I am very disappointed that you didn't enjoy it as much as I do. We buy in top quality...

We went here for a lunch stop after reading hugely positive reviews on here. It's a lovely place with outdoor seating and tasty looking cakes and rolls but we were sadly very disappointed with the quality of lunch we bought. The steak pie my fiancé had was very average - we've had much much better in NZ - and my...
