Only the 2 of us in the restaurant! A menu smaller than the one on the website ! Only 3 choices for the main ! We ordered 2 different mains ! One was quite good, the fish, but the other one, the steak, wasn't good at all! We couldn't eat the steak and when the waiter/cook came he said "oh... More

Hello, we are sorry you did not enjoy your meal, the owner is overseas at present and has been away for 5 weeks so she is not even in the country. The restaurant is now only open for phone bookings or accommodation guests as in June it is closing down permanently. I have forwarded this review on to the duty manager... More

I laughed at a beautifully passive aggressive tirade on the menu before going in. It emphasized that as the chef puts so much effort into fresh food you should not ask to share mains ("Don't embarrass us and yourself"). Enjoyed a very good main at Escape to Picton (fish of the day), but it went downhill from there. I and... More

The food was ok, and the service was good, but we had to sit outdoors & the gas heaters were not working so it was a bit cold. Or maybe they just didn't want to light the heaters? But late march in picton is quite cool in the evening so they should have had them going.

Many years back chefs always seemed to drown their culinary creations with sauce but gradually they learnt to let the food do the talking, well the chef here obviously has not learnt that less is more. Our fish was buried in a thick Hollandaise sauce that drowned out any taste of the fish, the vegetables (especially the potato) was again... More

We arrived late in the evening at this small restaurant without a booking, but a space was made for us in the courtyard & made to feel welcome. Fresh produce, well cooked & presented served by an attentive waiter. A good dining experience.

We paid a visit for Sunday Lunch and had an excellent meal. There is a good menu to choose from, the service is good and the staff friendly. Prices are comparative to other establishments of this nature in Picton. Well worth a visit.

A person I met on the ferry recommended this place, and with good reason! The food is Michelin quality, so wonderful you're amazed to have found it in such a small town. If you're passing through Picton, pause for a moment to enjoy a meal in this place. You won't regret it.

The decor of the restaurant is nice and pleasant. The staff were friendly enough but not what you would expect for a higher end restaurant. Having to ask for menus back etc so we could order the next course. We ordered a dessert wine however the brought the wrong one out and when questioned said it was right. We questioned... More

In summary our overall experience was average with really great food mixed with diffident (not indifferent) service, which was a shame. It is a little hard to explain but the waitress was so quiet and uncertain (but very polite) that we were never really sure that what we had ordered was actually going to happen. We are sure that English... More
