This restaurant would be my top choice in Akaroa. The food is faultless and for good reason, it is always popular.

Visiting from Australia. The Little Bistro was recommended to us (by our motel) and it certainly did not disappoint. As the name implies, this is a small restaurant located in the main street of this delightful French village. The food is simply to die for. Pan cooked local fish, risotto, rich chocolate desert - all superbly presented and with explosions... More

I had dinner here the other night and I was pleasantly surprised. We called early in the day to make a reservation and within about two hours they called us back to confirm. The seating is tight as it’s only a small restaurant but its not uncomfortably crowded. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and professional even if they were... More

Visited on a busy day. They found me a table although I was alone.Food was great with some nice twists. I loved the approach to the wine list.I had three courses so probably stayed a little longer than anticipated and the booking for the table turned up. I wasnt hasseled to leave and I rather think the other folk got... More

What a nice place. Food was excellent. very good wine selection. Intimate atmosphere. The only thing that wasn't so good was the size of the meals - they were just too big, considering the restaurant is based in the most French part of NZ. We had no room for dessert. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing!! :)

Dont be put off by the size of this place. The food is excellent and the wine list was also extensive with some good wines by the glass. The waiters were also great. A definite must while in Akaroa.

A lovely little restaurant that serves very imaginative food and can even satisfy a fussy vegetarian. Don't miss it.

Best service and food I've had from a restaurant in a long time! We loved the authentic French feel. Their steak dish is the best steak I've had.... It was cooked perfectly. Will be going back here for sure!

My husband (fiance at the time) and I dined here two years ago on our first trip to Akaroa and as soon as we were sitting down and sipping wine, I knew that we would have to come back to Akaroa get married and the wedding "feast" needed to be at the Little Bistro. Emma was the most amazing person... More

Wonderful food in a relaxed and charming atmosphere. Not overly priced, but expensive. But portions were too small for the price charged.
