I love the little cheese balls from there, but I try to avoid this place at all cost - too delicious to be able to stop eating.
Probably the best selection of pirags in Riga, and the pastries can't be far behind. We usually stop by at one of the several branches - our fav is the one in Old Town. We also are regulars at the one across from the the Dailes theater. Nice space, always a small crowd, friendly staff, clean tables, lovely food and... More
We visited Martina Bekereja in Valnu Iela in the Old Town. It is a nicely renovated coffee shop with excellent, freshly made savoury and sweet baked goods. The coffee was excellent.
There was a branch of this pastry chain across the street from where I stayed in Riga. In the mornings they had fresh pastries and coffee, opening at 8:00. They also had cakes and pastries more suitable for lunch and dinner desserts. A breakfast pastry and coffee were about 1 Lat, and there was free wifi as well.
There is a good range in this chain. And the things taste very good. Almost too good. On browsing their website recently I saw a picture of their special cake for hen/bachelorette parties which is certainly visually most interesting.
Locations around Riga, including one right across the street from my hotel.
