Friendly and knowledgable staff made this a very good visit- a good way to spend a couple of hours whilst enjoying the Castle district in Budapest.
This is an attraction not a restaurant but a few very special hours of pure enjoyment. You choose what sort of tasting you want from the "menu" and then sit back and relax. Each wine is described in respect of where it comes from, the grape variety and taste and then you are left to enjoy your glass. Tasted some... More
Four of us ordered three different wine flights which were all excellent. The staff was very good at explaining which wine area each specific wine was from before pouring. We were provided with a small basket of bread, but we had to ask if there was a cheese plate, which there was (at extra expense). The tasting is expensive compared... More
A great little find right outside our hotel in the castle district. Get to try a selection of wines from Hungary. It's a lovely couple of hours whilst they bring out and explain about the wine. They are very proud of them.
They do not serve food but a pretty cool place to sample wines. The atmosphere in the cellar is very nice and you learn a lot about Hungarian wines. We tried 6 and thought it was worth the trip if you enjoy wine
The cellar is really a demonstration area for the different grapes, wine growing regions, and vintners of Hungary. Although it has a commercial feel there is good information provided in a colorful format. The cellar itself is very pleasant, especially on a hot day, and the prices are more fair than I would expect considering the superb location. It will... More
We went in for a tasting and ended up trying the 2 dedicated red wine offers at 5000 and 8000 HUFs respectively. In this way we had the opportunity to taste 12 (2x6) different red wines in very different classes and styles from all the wine regions of Hungary. As we didn't come for drinking, but for tasting, the amount... More
This was the biggest disappointment in our otherwise happy visit to Budapest. The location is in the heart of the tourist area - maybe that should have raised alarm bells and made us "be aware". We went for the 7 tastings at 6000 HUF each (about £17). Measures were said to be 5ml, but rarely reached that. The staff chose... More
We enjoyed a pleasant afternoon tasting 6 wines in the Cellar. It was interesting to learn about, and experience the different types of Hungarian wines, which perhaps do not get the billing they deserve outside the country. As we were one of only a handful of groups in the cellar, it felt empty and lacked character and ambience. The wine... More
This is generally a pleasant spot with a broad selection of wines and a nice tasting room in the cellar. We were there on a slow Saturday afternoon. The host and server very much emphasized that if we were disappointed in the service in any way, they would go out of their way to make it right. I would say... More
