We had mixed feelings about this restaurant. The atmosphere was so welcoming and the owner and his wife charming. The service got a little slow toward the end of the meal, but there was a big party of about 20 people next to us and honestly, I don’t know how they kept up with the service. We had a nice... More

This was the first day of our week-long tour of Andalucia. We discovered the Meson quite by chance and were seduced by the very pleasant location (next to the Iglesia de Santa Maria Major) and by the warmth of the sun following the foul weather in the UK! We ordered the E10 Menu del Dia and selected the mixed Tapas... More

A friend booked this restaurant for us and we had a little difficulty in finding it, (There are so many lovely squares in Ronda.) The service was tremendously efficient even though there were 14 of us. The tapas was superb (generous portions of local fare, not over cooked) We had suckling pig (idealogically rather unsound) which was, as one can... More

The atmosphere is unpretentious, but the quality of the food far outruns the initial impression of the place. We had suckling pig (outstanding) and kid chops (very good). The patron was emphatic that the pig would not be served until the crackling was just right -- which it was! He also gave us a pleasant demonstration of ham-carving; he has... More

Found it by chance when looking for a mid-afternoon snack. Had the favada, a bean soup with chorizo etc (a bit like a French cassoulet) - delicious. Ordered plate of prawns which turned out to be so generous a helping I couldn't finish. Returned next day for evening meal, again v v good (and unusual). Lamb esp good. Also imaginative... More

Let me begin by mentioning the friendly staff. They were very kind and tried to make the experience, but the food here was just bad. The worst we had in our three weeks in Spain. I couldn't eat the artichoke dish that was pure mush. It was the consistency of mushy peas, except mushy peas have more texture. They brought... More

All the positve things written in the previous reviews are more than true! The food is excellent and so is the service by the waiter Andres. But what is truly unparalleled is the hospitality of the owner and chef Antonio. We enjoyed our first dinner so much that we decided to come back the next day. We wanted to eat... More

So glad we took Tripadvisor's advice. A great meal with excellent service. The meat cooked in a wood burning stove is really tasty, whilst the Moroccan dessert cooked to the recipe of the owners mother is highly recommended.

Arrived in Ronda after a couple of days in Seville wanting a meal having eaten too many tapas. Had the black pudding balls, avocado salad and suckling pig from the wood oven. Absolutely delicious. Beers crisp and cold on a lovely sunny day. Homemade cheesecake topped it off nicely. All for 50 euro. Will definitely be back here.

Arrived in Ronda after a hairy drive through dense mist. What a pleasant surprise to discover the Meson El Sacristan conveniently located in the square beside the Santa Maria La Mayor. The restaurant is charming and the staff were friendly and helpful. We only wanted a light lunch so they advised us to choose a selection of starters to share.... More
