Stumbled upon this place on the way home one day. The prices were ridiculous. When the food came out they portions were massive. We had no indication that they were share plates. The food was mediocre at best. Wait staff weren't very friendly and the place was very noisy and hard to have a conversation. Won't be coming back.

Authentic Malaysian food, modern decor but rather noisy, service is efficient without being overly warm, reasonable value, bookings recommended.

Had a couple of work lunches here when people have been leaving, good value, great food and great for large groups, well worth a visit

We came here on a Friday lunch time and found the owner incredibly rude. It was very busy and there was a misunderstanding with our order and the owner came to our table three times to yell at us whilst shaking his finger at us. Will not go back the food wasn't worth the attitude.

Sambal is always busy at both lunch and dinner, with reservations essential on a Saturday night. There are many Malaysians who eat there which attests to its authenticity. It's a noisy place with tiled floors and no soft furnishings in sight, so when we go with young children, they're not out of place. We used to go fairly often, as... More

Been there twice for lunch over last two months - really good Malaysian food both times. Will be going back.

Bumped into this restaurant almost by accident, as we had an extremely early check-in at the Courtyard Marriott opposite. The aroma wafting through the neighbourhood is most alluring for those who grew up in Southeast Asia. We were drawn the moment we walked through the doors and spotted what the customers were having. Thinking it was like most other Malaysian... More

The food taste seems to be declining in the past months. I remembered ordering their "value for money" Nasi lemak with chicken curry during lunch time, but the taste and portion of this dish, especially the curry is somewhat different. Apart from the selection of hawker foods and the laksa, I recommend the sago pudding, either served warm or cold.

The food was genuine Malaysian in flavour and the service friendly. One of the best laksas I've had in Sydney. A little expensive, probably on par with its location.

Nice food but the standout was the helpfulness of the senior staff. They were great,
