It never seems to be very busy and now has competition from Indian Aroma. We patronise both regularly and there's not a lot to choose between them. Shiraz has good NZ-standard Indian food, usually good service (occasionally slow),

We had a very nice Indian meal and good service- The garlic Naan was good as was the Chicken Masala - it was quite busy for Easter weekend so we were thankful they were open at 8pm
We followed our motel owner's recommendation. We were able to park within 100 meters and the menu was extensive. We are familiar with Indian food and have Indian spice in our home but were unfamiliar with all the varieties on the menu. Our waiter explained and ww selected varieites of prawns and lamb with spice combinations new to us.

The food is very good and a good selection is available & draught Kingfisher beer available too at the Whangarei branch of this group. Service is a little sketchy though, understaffing seems to be the problem and possibly trying to stay open too many hours, gives the impression of one of those 24 hour joints that always looks as if...

I can't count the number of times we've eaten at Shiraz with my wife or with a large family group. The food and service have always been first rate. But when they had to move to make way for the city to demolish their block of buildings and replace it with a carpark they moved to a new location. Unfortunately,...

We’ve been dining here for over 2yrs and keep coming back. It’s our ‘go to place’ for wholesome tasty food and great service. Their hospitality and generosity surpass expectations. Fab food, fresh organic ingredients sourced locally as much as possible and talented staff keep us coming ‘home’.
Its a large restaurant looking towards the peaceful Western Hills of Whangarei, with...

My daughter choose Shiraz to celebrate her passing NCEA. We found a table and sat down and then waited for 20 minutes without any service. 2 other tables arrived after us and were served. We walked out and went down the road to other indian restaurant, Indian Aroma on Vine Stree and had a fantastic meal. Will not be going...

The restaurant was nearly empty, but the food and service more than made up for the lacking atmosphere. Both the starters and the mains were tasty. The service was efficient and friendly. We enjoyed our meal very much and certainly recommend the "Shiraz" to others.
We bought a couple of specials from grabone or groupon for the 'banquet lunch'
Mostly just sauce and not enough of anything to dip into it. Some Nan bread would have been nice !
My meal was almost cold but the taste was very good. The staff were friendly, but the location is on a busy road. We found a...

I experienced the warmth of the people in the restaurant but did find the food rather expensive. The food was delightful, but the portions rather small and the service on the slow side for a small restaurant. The sauce of the dish was quite watery and difficult to really enjoy with the naan bread.
