This tiny place attracts hungry tourists like bees to honey! We bought three to take on our journey to Milford and they were sooo tasty! Lots of tasty filling, these pies mean business. I could swear there was half a chicken in mine! The hot chocolate and muffins equally good. I miss those pies...

Walked past this pie shop while on our way to our accommodation and thought we would stop by, grab a coffee and a quick bite to eat on the way. The pies were that good that my group and I went back several times during our stay...this place certainly lives up to its hype!! We tried the venison, lamb and... More

It was so close to where I was staying, and I had heard (or read, rather) so much about their Venison pies that I decided to try it out. Even though my expectations were high, it still managed to live up to its hype!!! I wasn't a big fan of venison until I had tried their pies!! The lady taking... More

Beautiful pies with lots of meat and a bit of gravy. Normally it is the other way around. The wild venison pie was beautiful. Will be back for sure.

When you pay $6.50 for a pie you expect something pretty damn good - and you get it. A must have in Te Anau, forget the pretender pie makers, pay a bit more and make a pig of yourself. My recommendation, the lamb and mint, or the venison or the seafood or any other they are so good. And such... More

A small place really close to the lake of Te Anau. The staff is really friendly and the pies are... amazing ! The only negative point I could give is the lack of space to sit down and eat your pie but if you are lucky with the weather I recommend you to buy a pie and eat it in... More

Pies are quite a big thing in NZ and was looking forward to try one, but to be honest I found it a bit disappointing. I thought the pastry was quite heavy. We live in Bristol where we have a couple of really excellent pie makers. Compared to these Mile sBetter Pies were not. Just average.

Following our coach driver's suggestion I had the venison pie here and it was superb - probably the best pie I had in NZ and there were plenty of other very good ones. The seafood pie was also very good. As with the other reviewers I'd say just go get one/some and enjoy.
