We were looking for a light lunch with a view. Lots of restaurants in downtown Taupo, but the Waterside lived up to its name. Great view. Leek, potato, bacon soup; thick and delightful, washed down with a glass of local house sauvignon blanc. We had a choice of view and a lovely blond waitress from Wales.

Although sitting outside means being quite close to the main lakeside road, the food at the Waterside is extremely good. We each had the Toasted Coconut Tiger Prawn Salad, which was wonderful and tasty, and a nice light bite on a scorching summer's day, washed down with Taupo Sunset cocktails.

Overall a bit disappointing. Everything was just ok. We had the bread and dips to start and they were both a little tasteless. Could have done with more seasoning. I went with my mother and my daughter one afternoon. Food was superb,reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Service was prompt. All in all a good restaurant my experience was fantastic. My daughter (10months old) was well looked after,supplied with a highchair and the staff were very helpful with accommodating her. Beautiful view!

Me and my wife had a lovely time here we both had the prawn salad and lamb salad. I noticed the chef whom made it and was very nicely presented. strong flavours also the atmosphere was spectaculor good service also i highly recomend this place :)

Enjoyed a lovely lunch at Waterside today - great personalised service from the waiter and our meal was beautiful - the nicest Salmon I have had in a long while. Very surprised and shocked to see some of the latest comments on Tripadvisor for this Restaurant! Thanks Waterside - keep up the great work!
