We stumbled across Preachers on a recent stay in Battery Point and what a great find it was. Reasonably priced local wines and beers and great tapas menu (the calamari is sensational and the chips are delicious). If the weather is fine you can sit out in the pleasant garden or if not it's very cosy inside.

What better way to settle into a long weekend in Hobart! A couple of delicious (slightly expensive) pints of boutique beer, some delicious tempura-battered mushrooms and excellent fries, sitting in the sunny courtyard. I come to Preachers at least once every time I visit Hobart.

I visited Preachers for evening drinks, and was generally impressed with the place. However, we went back for our second round of drinks when a malfunction behind the bar lead to alcohol being sprayed all over me. The bartender responsible, instead of apologising immediately, fled the scene and failed to even acknowledge the situation. It was embarrassing to say the... More

Dropped in here for a few pints on a drizzly Tuesday afternoon. Great beer, great atmosphere. Sat outside under the umbrella, in the comfy outside couches. It's a little oasis in the upmarket bars, and cheap pubs that seem to personify Salamanca Place.

Tucked away at the back of Salamanca, Preachers is a relaxed and casual spot. With comfortable leather chesterfields throughout the converted sailamakers cottage, and chairs and beanbags in the outdoor area, there's a comfortable spot for everyone. It's an ideal spot for a pre-dinner drink or a chilled out Sunday brunch with friends. A well kept Hobart secret that's popular... More

We had some pre dinner drinks here before going out for tea. The place has a great, friendly and relaxed atmosphere although it is probably most suited to those under 30. It was reasonably crowded at a very early hour in the afternoon but service was always quick. I'm not sure where you are supposed to sit when getting a... More

I would like to write a review and say that this is a fantastic place and everyone should go there, but I'm not. Not because it's over priced not because the food is rubbish not because the staff can't be bothered, just because I don't want the best kept Tassie secret from getting out and then I can't get in... Kind of like being in a mates backyard with awesome food and a great range of beers. Food is very reasonably priced and the beer is about $9 a pint. Out door area is a must on a summers day!

This is a bar that serves really interesting food. Suits a young crowd although we were made welcome. A great out door area

My husband, myself & friends all love going to Preachers, usually a Sunday afternoon relaxing with either a bubbly or great range of beers. Even enjoy going there on a Wednesday night to have one of their hotdogs whic changes weekly. It's a nice casual place with great service from the staff & the Tempura Mushrooms & their own sausage...
