I had driven past this place many times wondering if the food would be as good as it was in a portugese place that existed years ago in nth bondi , wonder no more it was disgusting , pork ribs that were from a packet , purchased from coles or woolies " its easy to recognise this as the bones... I was expecting a nice Croatian/Balkan food. But when I got here, the food was utterly disappointing Entree seafood cost $16-18, and there were 3 prawns or 3 octopus.. Main was worse. I had schnitzel and it tasted and presented like as if I was eating a cafeteria food. The veges were out of the frozen packet, potato mash was... More

As others have noted, this restaurant has been at its location on Oxford Street for many decades. Others have not lasted anywhere near as long. It's recently been re-decorated (several years back, I confess) and has less of a grunge feel to it. The food is excellently cooked (in front of you, without being obtrusive) and is a very satisfying... More

We went there to try something new.. but the food was just ordinary and lacked in taste. The oyster mornay were just like eating grilled cheese toast and risotto was not cooked properly. Prices were very expensive for what it was and the service was average. They couldn't get us out there fast enough! Mind you at this time it... More

We have eaten there on a couple of occasions and both times the food and service was of very good quality and value. Had the garlic prawns (3 prawns) and avocado (1/2 avocado,1 prawn,1 oyster). The grilled dory fillets with potato nod cabbage salad was light and delicious. The beef stroganoff was hearty , tasty and a large meal. Had... More

We visited sydney for the weekend and needed somewhere to go for food, after trying to wander around the city looking for half decent places we went to Oxford street for a few drinks and decided to have a meal here, from the moment we sat down the owner and his son were really accomodating! We were recommended the have... More

I should keep this place a secret, but I just have to let everyone know what a great place to eat Balkan food. Every thing we had from the Prawn starter to the meat platter for one was absolutely fantastic and presented with a huge amount of pride in their product. Been there twice and will be going again. I... More

Fish and chips very ordinary and deceptively priced. We would not return to this place given there are so many other good places. They need to ensure the pricing on their blackboard menu inside is correct. When the waitress asked if we would like the frozen fish or fish fillets I started to wonder. Then when the bill arrived with... More

Sydney is not known for restaurants which last. Most are start-ups and the aim is to sell the business at a profit to investors asap. It's all about new concepts, new fitouts, new pizazz... Compare this with Melbourne where the same restaurant families have persevered for years, sometimes at one address. To Sydney insiders there is a delightful exception; the... More

Went here with some friends on A Friday night, friendly wait staff and family-like crowd. I had the grilled salmon, which was nothing special, but the Balkan salad was fantastic, especially the potatoes! Girlfriend loved her spagetti bolognase, and my mate tried a local delicacy which consisted of several different meats and sausages. The menu is a bit pricey for... More
