Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family and I enjoyed our meal here, we got a variety of dishes, from seafood, to grilled, to local curry. The sides were tasty as well. Meat was succulent and not over cooked at all. Service was good, our waitress was polite and attentive....They had a high chair for my 1 year old and there were interesting things for her to walk around and see as we waited for our food. The bar was nicely decorated, the dining room inside was fine. I get the impression that it would be a nice place for people to lime during prime bar hours, with a spacious outdoor area. I found the price of some things to be quite high for the size of the portions/ comparing to other restaurants, so I do believe that some things could be a little more generous in portions. At the same time, I can understand the need to charge such prices for the service and up-keep of quality.More

Good and fresh food. Clean surroundings and friendly staff. Relaxing atmosphere, music not overwhelming and enough space to be comfortable.

Visited for lunch and it wasn't good at all. The stew chicken was missing seasoning, the callaloo was extremely salty and was full of Golden ray butter ughh, the green salad had no variety and the potato salad was basically mayonnaise, didn't have much taste....The temperature of the food needed improving, it needed to be hot. Was served water in a glass where there was a chip that could have cut my lip. When asking for water bear in mind that it is not free. You would need to pay for each glass of water that is drank. Most of the tables for indoor dining were shaky and uncomfortable to sit at. Disappointing visit, The Ranch urgently needs to work on upgrading its culinary staff as well as the furniture.More

If you like curried crab and dumplings when you are in Tobago, you do not have to hop on a plane or jump on a boat to get to Tobago. All you need is to take a nice drive down to Mayaro and stop off...at The Ranch. Very tasty, quantity good for your money and service is quite good. Outdoor seating recommended.More

Expensive drinks food not so bad, went twice in one week. The first time the waitress was very unfriendly I had to ask for menus and even get up to give my order.

A first time for me. Actually was not expecting properly prepared meals and ambiance, but I was surprised. The dish eaten was the Grilled Shrimp Meal and was quite tasty. Very well presented and the wait staff Akash was well mannered. I now have a...better option in Mayaro for Lunch and Dinner. The family enjoyed the Chicken Tenders, Vegie Burgers, Shark and Chicken Sandwiches and CallalooMore

Our family ate there twice on a weekend stay in Mayaro. Both the food and wait staff were very good. Excellent decor and atmosphere. We had two small children with us, staff was very attentive to their needs. We also had vegetarian among us, everybody...had good meals.More

Was looking for a nice meal in Mayaro and everyone around said The Ranch is really good. There is an authentic ranch look with a front porch at the front. There is dining inside and an out door area with a stage. The food is...really good and the portions are generous. I had the catch of the day which is priced market style. It is fried and although it looked like it was all dried out nothing could be further from the truth. Moist and full of flavor. Really great place and worth a visit if you ever happen on to the East Coast of Trinidad.More

Nice spot for friends and family to get together. Food is okay and music is good. Safe and secure. One of the only places aside from hotels to hang out other than bars.

The service here was excellent. I had the shrimp and fries for $60 and the friend had the shark burger and fries for $40, with a coconut water and orange juice. We also had the barbadien ice-cream which was also really good. Their food selections...are wide ranging, from curry to steak. Definitely recommend.More

This place has some outstanding food. The group I was with had fried shark, spicy french fries, chicken, and a bunch of other stuff all topped off with some good beer and good friendship. I really have nothing else to say...if you find yourself in...Mayaro, Trinidad, go eat there...eat a lot and then go downtown Mayaro for some doubles from the street vendor in front of the supermarket.More

After a long drive from PoS, through the Nariva Swamp, we were set on lunch. We arrived in an empty Ranch restaurant and were welcomed by the hosts. A shark-sandwich, chicken & fries and several coke's later we've had plenty and only a small bill...to cover. Great place and good food for decent prices!More

The Ranch of Mayaro offers an excellent mix of local and American styled dishes to suite everyone's palette. From curries duck to shrimp and fries, The Ranch delivers on taste and size. The place can get quite busy but there are many seating options available....Note that this is also a sports bar so expect that kind of vibe when going in. The owners and servers are very hospitable and friendly. The Ranch is a mainstay of any Mayaro trip!More
