This was the highlight of our weekend in County Clare. The food was excellent and the service delightful. I had halibut which was amazing! The seafood chowder was also superb. My better half had Sea Bass, another gem! More

We took a tripadvisor review and decided An Fulacht Fia has a better rating than the popular restaurant Monks of Ballyvaughan which had mixed/poor reviews....how glad were we. Service 10/10 Decor/Ambience 10/10 Food 11/10 Crab claw starter is simply amazing. If angels eat food then this would be it. Mains of Duck, Monkfish and Lamb went down a treat as... More

We ate here on a Thursday evening without a reservation. The service was excellent and the food wonderful. The halibut was terrific; it came with potatoes and vegetables, including carrots and parsnips which were wonderful. The seafood chowder was also excellent. We did not have dessert, having filled up on everything else. More

A group of 20 friends went for dinner to celebrate 2 birthdays. The restaurant is beautifully decorated & very comfortable with breathtaking sea views. The food was excellent and service was very good, considering we were such a big group. We had asked a few days in advance to have a birthday cake supplied. The cake was just awful -... More

Even though it was very late, my wife daughters and I were provided with a warm welcome. The service was very good, they made an excellent recommendation for wine. We had superb meal, local seafood, Irish lamb. Even though we were the last patrons in the restaurant , we never felt rushed or unwelcomed. If you are staying in the... More

We had the pleasure of dining here on our tour of Ireland. The restaurant was recommended by the B&B that we were staying at. Our visit to Ballyvaughan was for three nights - this restaurant was so "exceptional" that we ate there every night. The quality of the food, the presentation, the service, not to mention the charming hosts was... More

A roomy well-decorated restaurant with efficient, friendly service and a talented chef working behind the scenes. We only discovered this place on our last night in Ballyvaughan and it's not one to miss if you appreciate good food. My wife had two starters and a dessert and enjoyed them all. I had a "cod cake" as a starter - a... More

We were disappointed with this restaurant where we went to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. The food was really average, cold undercooked potatoes, hard brocolli, not sure about the carrot mélange.. The atmosphere was average and the views of the sea were not maximized at all. Very average decor. I suppose the real crime for us was paying over 60... More
