7 adults and one toddler visited this restaurant at the weekend and we all thought our food was lovely and the standard of service was excellent. The waitresses couldn't have been friendler - one took her time to recommend a couple of items on the menu and it was refreshing to have someone actually be knowledgeable about the food on... More

Enjoyed a very pleasant evening with my wife, celebrating her birthday! She is a big fish fan and we were both very happy with the night. We drove out from South Dublin, left the car and DARTed home - so although it was a "journey" it was worth it. The atmosphere (warm but unpretentious) was very relaxed and we chose... More

This is a very good restaurant, I suggest you go early as it gets crowded. Order off the chalk board and you cannot go wrong. The best Fish and Chips I have ever had. http://www.oarhouse.ie/ More

My wife and I were away for our honeymoon and decided to eat here due to previous reviews and we were not disappointed. The sevice was great, the food smashing and the early bird menu with tea and coffee for 22 euro was excellent value. We loved the informal atmosphere of this place and felt comfortable from the moment we... More

As Italian, I am very demanding about food quality and this place has never disappointed me! I have been living in Dublin for years and every time I fancied some fish, this is definetely the place I went. Staff is very nice, food is good and Houth is a special place...I really recommend this restaurant More

Not easy to chose among the great number of seafood restaurants along the West Pier, but being December and out of season, the Oar House seemed to be the only one that was almost full already at 1730 on a Saturday evening. We got the last table and did not regret it. Simple and rustic this is the kind of... More

Been here a few times and never been let down. Go for the early bird menu as the ala carte menu can be fairly expensive for what it is. Best fish and chips in Howth. More

Great spot for family/friends - it's a really quaint restaurant on the pier surrounded by other restaurants and long-time family run fish shops. The fish dishes are well done - I had the mussels in garlic and white wine to start, a huge portion and grilled halibut for my main course, which was cooked perfectly. The wine list is not... More

We ate in the Oar House in Howth in November 2011. The restaurant is located on the pier, opposite the resident seals of Howth! We had 3 starters for luch - the Buffalo Prawns were awesome. The restaurant was packed so it is best to reserve. The staff were friendly and service was excellent. Great atmosphere - we'll be back! More

I've eaten here with family on a number of occasions, and have always been very happy with the delicious seafood. The tapas style portions make it an ideal fun choice for a group of diners as you can sample from a range of dishes. The restaurant has always been very busy when I've eaten there, and as a result the... More
