I arrived in Adare with my Mother, Sister and my 6 year old daughter after a long day of traveling. Our B&B proprietor recommended The Arches. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed for the evening. We stood on the sidewalk wondering where to go from there. We were hungry and tired. The local pubs weren't an option due to... More

We visited Ireland in Feb 2011. We had a long day of driving and wanted a homecooked meal instead of all the greasy pub food we had all week and this great little place was open. They were so friendly and really made us feel like family. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and they even went out of... More

The Arches is billed as a family restaurant and if you're looking for friendly service with a welcome like you'd get visiting friends or family then this is your place. If you're looking for something elegant go to the Carriage House or the Adare Manor (and pay a LOT more.) We enjoyed the fact that traditional music is played as... More

We have just returned from our fourth trip to Ireland and it will not be our last. The beauty of the 'ole sod' is the scenery, the history, and the people of this beautiful land of many of our forefathers. The Arches in Adare had it all. We spent two nights there enjoying conversations with John, his mother Mary, and... More

We dropped in here for lunch when passing through Adare. It is a quirky place with an eclectic mix of furniture and a dated atmosphere. The two things that made our visit pleasant here were the very friendly staff and the very good food. We had what was called a 'mini salad' and expected to get a plate of mainly... More

Ate here one evening while staying in Adare. Interiors are very dated, Music was absolutely terrible. Set up just to appeal to guillable tourists who think we are still living in the 1980s. gives a very poor representation of modern Ireland. Waiter was plesant however the menu was terrible. Very poor choice and very very expensive the fleece the tourists.... More

We were staying at Adare Manor which has some fine dining facilities of it's own, but were directed to The Arches as something local and fine. Fine it was. Mary is a wonderful hostess who certainly exhibits all of the wonderful, friendly traits forth which Ireland is known. John, her son is a wonderful individual and doubles as historian, comedian... My family and I spent a week in Adare and one of the highlights was eating at The Arches. The menu was not extensive, but everything was well prepared and delicious. What made the meal for us, though, was the friendliness of the owner, chef, and wait staff. We learned a lot about the area from them, especially about the... More

The Arches is a little hole in the wall in Adare, Ireland, and yet on my return trip to the quaint town the restaurant was my most anticipated stop. The service is personal and fantastic, with the wait staff checking in at all the right moments while allowing you and your party to still absorb and enjoy the atmosphere. The... More
