We were cycling along the towpath and came across this lovely friendly pub quite by accident. The landlord was very friendly (and was wearing a very loud shirt), and the staff were great too. We only had a light meal, but this was lovely and obviously freshly prepared. It was fabulous sitting outside watching the world and the boats go... More

This place is a must if you are on a narrow boat, just park up and walk down the tow path. Fabulous home-made from scratch food and the local 6x brew is worth a pint or two. Lots going on in the evening to keep you entertained. Diverse and mixed age groups crowd in the bars so its deffo one... More

We visited bradford-on-avon this week and chanced upon this great pub, they opened up early for us and we enjoyed every minute. The landlord was friendly and very helpful recommending other places to visit including the Wadworth brewery in Devizes. We decided to stop for lunch and were glad we did, everything was freshly made and served with a smile,... More

Park the car in the Kennet And Avon Car park just abouve the lock (entrance just past Sainsbury's). Drop down onto the warf and have ice cream in the K&A tea rooms when open in season ( not listed on Trip Advisor) and watch the boats and swans. Cross the road to the Canal Tavern and park our behinds with... More

Having decided to go for a walk and eat to the lock inn as usual we popped into the canal tavern for a warm as the lock inn was closed. So glad we did. We had a cheery welcome in the garden bar. Looking at the food coming out we decided after all to eat. We had some of the... More

We were warmly welcomed the the cider was wonderful, so after chatting for a while decided to stay for a meal, which was obviously freshly homemade the sausage and chorizo casserole was a real... This place has seen a trasformation. It's had a bit of a makeover with a fab lighting system that can change to mood as day moves to night. It's traditional unpretentious pub feel can change into a clubby party venue if there is a special event on . We must try the Kareoke on a Friday night as I'm told... More

The only time i would ever consider eating here again would be if there was a famine. The length of time i had to wait for a microwaved roast dinner made me go from clean shaven to having a fully grown beard. Similar to that of Albert Trotter.
