A good local pub that has quiz evening and good food and beer. An old oak beamed pub, with a roaring fire its a snug place to be on a cold winters evening
Had a two for £20 steak deal with a glass of wine included , this is the second time we have done this and really do have to say it was brilliant food , very well cooked and brilliant service !!!
We found the staff friendly and helpful. The menu had lots of choices for the adults and they sounded lovely. My husband enjoyed his roast. I did think that one vegetarian option was not enough which is a shame and will prevent us coming again. The children's menu could do with some more healthy options (including a vegetarian meal as... The bar looked interesting but as we had small children we went to the conservatory. I think they forgot about us both before we managed to place an order and while we were waiting to be served. The so called £5 lunch deal was sad and not to be recommended. Some of our group had steak, which was ok. Good... More
We held our father's wake at this pub and they were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. They could not have been more helpful. The pub conservatory was perfectly set up for us for the day and they were really keen to make it a special occasion for us. There were drinks on arrival, music playing and food all ready... More
A visit with family and friends for a casual birthday lunch. Accommodating wheelchair access for my friend, the service was very good and friendly. Food was great, and good value. A popular place for a Tuesday lunchtime. Pretty gardens too.
What a wonderful way to do a mixed grill special, how clever of the chef and what wonderful produce, it was a pork mixed grill served on a skewer with the best ingredients ever and all cooked fabulously , wife had steak , her usual in here and everything again was brilliant, we I'll be back!
Dropped in for a casual evening as it's a traditional pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Sat outside for an early evening drink, enjoying the stunning views, then moved inside to eat. Excellent quality food for the price (both sea bass & steaks recommended) and the service was really friendly but efficient. We sat in the old part of the pub,... More
It is a long time since I went to such a terrible venue. We ate lunch in the conservatory restaurant. The table was filthy with dried on food scraps from yesteryear, flies buzzed around us like at an Arab souk, the service was slow and surly - the waitress even put her hand in the food as she served the... I will respond to your points in order. The table you sat at was not ‘filthy’, but it does have a wood stain on it, I would imagine this complaint has arisen because the table you wanted to be moved to was already taken. As for the flies, in case you haven’t noticed Midhurst is in the countryside. At this... More
We dropped in here simply as it was on the route home and had never heard of it before. The pub is very pretty from the outside and we sat on a lovely patio area, all very clean and orderly. The food was excellent, mackerel nicoise salad from the specials board and steak and chips for the other half. The... More
