I've been to the Claypath Deli several times, and never been disappointed - the food is superb, and really imaginative. The Moroccan hot chocolate is out of this world!

Walking up the hill in the sleet on a miserable freezing March morning it was a delight to walk in here and to be warmly greeted and handed a menu.
Really nice choice to eat and drink. Our lunch was great and kicked off my fiance's 30th in style. Got the impression this was a family business, really nice vibe...

I've come to the deli quite a number of times now, and every time my meal has been absolutely delicious and such good value. There is a great selection of different coffees and teas, and with special drinks like their mulled apple juice or ice tea there's always something different to choose and experience. Lunch usually costs around £5 or...

The best place for lunch in Durham! Here you can get amazing sandwiches with the freshest vegetables and fruit, yummy meat and some lovely cheese. I have visited on numerous occasions and it has never disappointed me. It is also very cheap, so there is no reason not to have your lunch here
Went here on the basis of reviews on this site and given the glowing reports we were a bit disappointed. First impressions always matter and who can honestly say that going to the counter to order your food rather than having your order taken at the table is a good start.
Pleasant enough surroundings but a shortage of tables for...

I had a much needed late breakfast here - a daddy bear size bowl of porridge, sourdough toast & marmalade & a soya latte. The deli opens at 10 a.m. but I can't understand LillyBage's poor experience. They do have a wide range of hot drinks. On my second visit I had Keemum tea whidh was unusual but nice &...

Turned up on a Saturday morning to find the place obviously gone bust! However, it hadn't, but looking inside the place was a shambles, door closed cups left on tables, chairs all over the place, glasses left half empty on the tables. Sat outside deciding where to go next when staff arrived and opened up looking all worse for wear,...

I had a platter of antipasti here and it was a delicious array of deli foods served in a rustic fashion. The ambience is warm and jazzy and the staff are attentive and accommodating to one's needs. Additionally, there is a wide range of coffees and teas to suit all tastes. I will certainly be returning.
We had an impromptu lunch at the Claypath Deli on Friday. We arrived fairly early so got a nice comfy seat at a little table. We chose the Spanish plate and antipasti plate to share between two. I was really impressed with the quality of the food. Really good quality meats, and cheese with great accompaniments., presented on a lovely...

This place changed my (probably biased) about British food. The environment is cozy. The vegetables are fresh. And the cheese is home made. Most importantly, every thing is SO YUMMY! The only complaint is that it doesn't open on Sundays, and I also wish the open time could be a bit earlier.
