I visited here with a party of eight and enjoyed the complete dining experience. We had pre dinner drinks in the relaxed bar area accompanied by some imaginative aperitifs including, chilli cheese popcorn, marinated olives, wasabi nuts and homemade humuus; all were well made and had a unique twist on them that set them apart from the usual. For starter... More

I visited this restaurant when it was Kings Rhodes on several occassions and always had wonderful food but recently heard varying reports since it reverted back to The Kings Arms. To start with they had no record of our reservation even though it had been made 2 weeks previously. We eventually got a table and must admit that the staff... More

We went for Sunday Lunch and the 15mile menu, which is amazing value. However, beware the supplements! Bread and Olives are £5, the olives are very nice but a timbale sized dish for £3? The bread artisanal, but pre sliced, so stiff and a bit dry - £2 every opportunity we were asked if we had finished with them, when... More

We visited The Kings Arms restaurant on Bank Holiday Monday for a birthday lunch for 2. Location: In the centre of Christchurch facing the hotel's attractive garden, pavilion and bowling green, albeit with the road in between. Service: I chose the twice baked cheese souffle as first course, my wife the prawn cocktail. We were surprised to be told that... More

Went here for lunch prior to booking a large party in the Autumn. The web-site and contact with the Hotel staff were positive but there's nothing like tasting the food before comitting. We chose from the fifteen mile menu. Each of us selected different items and chef kindly made a special item for our typically fussy teenage daughter. His tomato... More

Just got home from an outstanding lunch at The Kings Arms. 2 courses and a glass of wine for £10.00 or 3 courses and a glass of wine for £16.50 excellent value. I had the goats cheese salad with croutons to start which was delicious and my husband had the asparagus and bacon soup which he said was the best... More

Four of us visited the Kings Arms restaurant for the first time. We ate from the '15 mile menu' which offers food sourced within a 15 mile radius at a lunchtime price of £15 for three courses. There was also a special offer of 2 courses for £10 including a glass of wine so we went for that. The food... More

We went along to learn how to make cocktails with Barcardi. We had a fantastic evening with lots of laughter. The evening was well organised, easy to book and we even left with party bags. Would definitely recommend this event to other people and excellent value for money.

really enjoyed our recent lunch with friends at the Kings Arms, great value, friendly atmosphere, the food was delicious as expected. My only complaint would be the limited selection of rose wines available, but this is the best all-round restaurant in Christchurch in my view.

We visited for a special occasion as we had been encouraged by previous posts, unfortunately we were disappointed. The bar service was polite although it took longer than it should have done for the lone barman to acknowledge that we and others were waiting to be served. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service was polite and attentive,... More
