This is a perfect venue if afternoon tea is what you like. The cakes are delicious, and the atmosphere that of an old fashioned, rather genteel Buxton.
This place is just the nicest place I have been in a very long time! It is perfectly located near the baths and the opera house and the interior takes you back to the glorious days when afternoon tea began. There is a mix of history and style joined with first class customer care and beautiful food and tasty prosecco...This... More

Nice traditional tea room, offering extensive menu to please most palates. High quality local produce used, good customer service with free newspapers to read whilst enjoying your meal.
This is what I, as an American, would call a great place for High Tea. The food, especially the pastries and desserts, was excellent, and the service was always pleasant. This is one of the two restaurants I came back to several times during my two week stay in Buxton. I would say if you ran from No. 6 to... More

This restaurant/tea room came highly recommended in one of our Peak District Guidebooks and we were not disappointed. It is well located just across from the Pavilion/Opera House. Fabulous food served by lovely staff. Nice ambience. Tempting cakes. Altogether an excellent experience. Best I've tried in Buxton.
23-6-13: just what I imagine an English tea room to be. Quaint and delicate. Tasty food, pleasant staff and superb tea. Recommend you give it a go.
