We booked based on fellow TA reviewers advice and were definitely not disappointed! When we arrived (Friday evening), there were people waiting who had turned up on spec, so make sure you do book. Although it is hidden away a little, it is very popular and rightly so. Great food and service with a nice homely atmosphere.

mamma rosa is small but the food and service is very good the staff are very helpful and friendly.we both had pasta dishes and we did return 2 days later for more of the same.

The food here was lovely, good portion size and great quality. The waiter was friendly, attentive, and very funny. We ate here on 20/4/13 to celebrate our daughter's birthday. On arrival we received a warm greeting. The restaurant was full which was surely a good sign. We dined here on the recommendation of our b&b hosts, who stop in regularly. A truly excellent meal. Good stuffed mushrooms, wonderful homemade pasta and risotto, fresh fish, etc. My friend said the panna cotta is the best she's ever eaten, and she's had it in Italy. We went here with friends on a Saturday night. Very friendly staff. Food order was taken quickly and came out quickly as well. Food was excellent. I had the Pollo Mexicano which was very good. Deserts were delicious and home made. All in all ...a good place.

We have eaten at Mamma Rosa's several times and I can most recently recommend the whitebait and risotto; my husband, who is trained chef and struggles to get a good blue steak, can certainly recommend the steak - we rarely get to the dessert as the porions are great too.
