Wonderful food, flawless, personable service and a brilliant sommelier whose wine pairings were the highlight of our meal. Old fashioned decor but staff welcomes everyone and wants us to enjoy ourselves. We were there on a Friday night and the pianist was great too -- from Satie to show tunes, but soft enough we could hear each other without effort.

Sitting atop one of the grand hotels on the Kaertner Ring, Le Ciel proved a real, if expensive treat. Good choice of two imaginative menus and we also opted to have the accompanying wine flight which gave us a real insight into Austrian wine, which deserves more accolades than it usually gets
