It was a good meal, but I found the service to be a little brusque and the food was good but not outstanding for the price. Believe me, this is saying a bit. We are very low maintenance people. We waited 15 minutes before we were offered more than water and it didn't seem particularly busy. I would have been... More

Reykjavik is not known for being inexpensive, however, there are ways to enjoy a wonderful meal and lovely surroundings by going to lunch rather than dinner. Thus said, I would go to Humarhusid even in the evening as they food and service is perfect. We went to lunch with a prix fix offering. The food was beautifully presented and was... More

My wife and I just returned from dinner at the lobster house. We chose it because of the reviews. It was a great experience and we enjoyed everything. The staff were superb, the wine and food delicious. Casual dress is appropriate, pricing on the upper end and well worth it, but we did after all have lobster! The grilled lobster... More

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The service was sublime, the ambience was relaxed and the decor was just right. I dined here with friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed every single mouthful. I ate the lobster tails and it was absolutely delicious and I would return to Iceland just to eat it again!

Four if us had a late lunch at The Lobster House, and we all loved the lobster soup and the main course, which was the best cod I've ever had (apart from when its in batter!!) The service was very good, but as my observant wife pointed out, the waiters suit was in need of a good clean. Just addressing... More

Came in for my last dinner of my trip, which also happened to be Easter Sunday. I had no reservation, but the hostess was able to seat me right away, anyway. The food and vibe are very traditional. I enjoyed my meal - lobster soup and the tenderloin of lamb and lobster. The service was very friendly and helpful. I... More

We went to this place in our last night in Reykjavik as we wanted to try some Höfn lobster after hearing they are some if the best in the world. We arrived at 10:05 with service due to finish 10pm. The staff were happy to accommodate us, ever if we wernt exactly dressed up to the same standards as the... More

Went early (1730), probably need to book if you eat later. 4 course meal, excellent flavours, if fast food is your thing, don't come here. Crayfish, monkfish, ice cream with liquorice sauce, all beautiful! When the bill came, added quite a bit for a bottle of wine we didn't order. Challenged the bill, which was corrected. Readers should note that... More

Really enjoyed our meal here. Excellent ambience, service, and the seafood was prepared perfectly, as was the lobster soup. Simply first class

Chose this place because I wanted good, simply prepared lobster. It was tender and sweet, and grilled perfectly. My friend's lamb was equally delicious.
