Our waiter was most responsive. He taught me their trick of folding the wine toppo (cork) into the foil at the bottle's neck! BTW, we selected an excellent bottle of Brunello. The Owner's family is involved, including his son's girlfriend, and we congratulated them on our experience; promising to write this review.

Don't let the chocolate turn you off from trying this dish. The white boar sauce blends nicely with the nearly earthy taste of the pasta. While trying to decide on getting this pasta, a couple from a neighboring table said they came to Siena and went to this restaurant just to have the chocolate pasta in white, wild boar sauce.... We opted to try the best restaurant in Siena as recommended by Trip Advisor - we were not disappointed! The food here is incredible.... local Tuscan ingredients - simple Italian cooking at its absolute best Best Gnocchi I've ever eaten - light and airy, completely different to the usual slightly stodgy potato dumplings Trying the Asparagus Soufflé on the side... This was recommended by the taxi driver on the way from the train station to the hotel and I have to say I was not disappointed. The relatively small restaurant is situated going up a street right off the main square. The first evening we dined there we chose some of the fresh truffle dishes on the side menu and... More

This gem has an amazing experience when you walk in. Everything was wonderful - our food was excellent -even the way they served the wine was an experience. They also provided a gluten free experience for me - with gluten free bread and gluten free pasta. My partner highly recommends the truffle pasta - one of the best pasta dishes... More

We were in Siena for only 1 night, staying in a hotel near the Fortezza. We accepted the recommendation of the hotel clerk and he phoned ahead to make a reservation for us. We're glad he did as it was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was packed - not an empty table. Although it was a bit of a... More

My friends and I had no plans on eating in Siena, but we happened to walk by this hidden gem and were drawn in by the wonderful smell and mouth-watering menu: Gorgonzola & Pear risotto. Homemade cacao pasta with wild boar sauce. Ricotta-filled gnocchi. The prices were a bit high for our just-graduated-college budget, but we knew we had to... More

Go out of your way to get a table here lunch or dinner. Incredible food and wonderful service and atmosphere. If they are no to busy asked to be shown the wine cellar care dating back to 200BC. Wow!!!

If you've never eaten in a restaurant that used to be an Etruscan cave dwelling, well you're in for a treat! The food is fantastic with an excellent selection of wines to choose from. The service was very good, but you may need to occasionally call a waitperson for help. But the history of the location is worth visiting for.... More

This restaurant is basically a tourist trap. Horrible food & service. The food is not authentic & very bland. The service is rude or totally fake when they do attempt to be nice. Couldn't answer basic questions about their dishes either. Then, they essentially told us to leave as the table was booked for another group (i.e. they take 2... More
