Description: The restaurant was founded as Basilio restaurant in 1950 after a bet made by Basilio Deidda. The restaurant opened its doors in today via Satta, then regarded as extreme outskirts of the city, from which you could see Mount Urpinu. In 1980 he succeeded his father in the activity's son Basilio Gianfranco Deidda. The great success of the restaurant leads to renewal of the premises in 1991, decorated in rustic-modern and at the same time elegant and refined, the space is divided into two large rooms that are about 100 seats, plus a terrace to enjoy in the summer . Gianfranco Deidda, the experience of his father, managed to create a pleasant environment for customers who decide to spend a few hours in good company enjoying the delicious dishes cooked by experienced chefs in the kitchen both local and national. The highly qualified staff is always available to each customer's needs. The former restaurant trattoria "Basilio" while renewing, has preserved the old traditions, reaching the third generation ...

We went to the restaurant on Saturday evening, it ws full of local people, great atmosphere. We were lucky to get one table without advance reservation. The personnel was really nice and helpful and spoke good English. The food quality was also very satisfying. Good value.

I went to Basilio because of the good comments and recomended on TA, I have really found the restaurant not aligned with my expectations, the service is good and the place nice but not exceptional as mentioned in several reviews...food was not extraordinary however we took also the dessert. Next time in Cagliari we will try something else!

After walking the streets of the old town of Cagliari and taking in the great views from the Bastione, I consulted TA about lunch. Basilio seemed to be hughly recommended. It took me a long while to look for the street (all locals new it existed, but where???), but I persisted and was finally driven there (!!!) by a very... More

We went to Basilio because of the good TA reviews and were not disappointed. We went for the 25 euro tasting menu and it was great value. Highly recommended.

This small genuine family run restaurant gave me a real flavour in every way of Sardinia and Cagliari. I found it on a unassuming street in Via S. Satta after a stroll around Cagliari centre and the Bastione. From the Sardinian bread- carta da musica to the mixed seafood salad (anti pasta) I was immediately hooked and impressed by the... More

Our fridge was empty and really didn't want to eat pizza, so we went in search of restaurant open on Monday night in Cagliari (hard thing to find open YES). After roaming hopelessly, a friend told us that Basilio only closes on Sunday, so we hurried over for a table. The restaurant was full at 9:30pm but they still had... More

We went to this restaurant because of the good reviews at TA, but overall we were disappointed. Antipasti and primi piatti were good (cozze and pasta) but the fish i had for secondo piatto (bass) was served in a oversalted slimy sauce which made the impression to be a packet sauce. As a side dish i had a carelessly served... More

I went here with a friend based on the very good reviews on TA. At the time of this review the restaurant was ranked number one in Cagliari. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the staff are welcoming and friendly. As with most restaurants in Cagliari, Basilio has a very "family run" feel to it. The menu was typical... More
