I dined here on the Saturday night, just passed, having booked in advance following reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. This restaurant is truly excellent - please do not believe the reviews regarding the staff!! We found everyone to be extremely pleasant, accommodating and friendly - even the chef waved us off! I started with the carpaccio with walnuts and parmesan... More

Creatively prepared, everything was impeccable at the Osteria L'Orto dei Mori. We ate there for lunch once and dinner twice! It is so east to get from the Boscolo Venezia Hotel to this restaurant.

We were just arriving in Venice after a long flight and train ride from Milan. It was late, they'd already closed technically and there was one couple just finishing up their lunch. Our apartment rental was a few doors down the street, and we were famished and tired. We asked if we could order something to eat. The gal who... More

This was a second visit to this restaurant after a gap of two years. They operate a two-sitting evening and we opted for the 7-9pm as I find it difficult to eat any later. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived but soon filled up. The food was excellent and I especially enjoyed my dessert of chocolate mousse which contained... More

Reserved a table in this small restaurant on a Sunday evening. Our shared scampi and pumpkin starter was delicious, followed by sole and steak which too were good. The atmosphere was good, the waitress very helpful in describing dishes and recommending prosecco/wine. €100 for 2 course and a bottle of prosecco.

Found this place reviewed positively in an article in the Daily Telegraph. We shared the salad starter which was ok but nothing to write home about. I had a Primi Piatti of scallop with pumpkin cream I.e. soup - nothing special - there were only 6 little scallops in it. My daughter had a prawn gnocchi with spinach - that... More

We were quite astonished - after all the good reviews - to find the food just average and the service quite rude. Maybe this is one of the places where fame went to much in the head of of the people. We did especially not like the staff's reminder after our arrival and before the hello, that they would have... More

Enjoyed our last night in Venice at this cozy restaurant. We had not had great luck with previous restaurants in Venice being overpriced or touristy so found this one recommended in two guide books and on tripadvisor. We wanted to experience a more authentic experience off the beaten path and glad we did as this small restaurant with just about... More

We ate as a table of 4. The location of the place is excellent. It is away from the bustle of tourists and much more residential. I can see that many of the other reviewers make reference to it being a spot for locals. We did not find this. There are approximately 10 tables in the place and at least... More

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful evening at Osteria L'Orto dei Mori. It's a very cosy place in a quiet part of Venice. Perfect for relaxing after a long day. We had a two-course menu, a bottle of wine and some water and paid 80 EUR in total, which we found reasonable. There was a good selection for vegetarians... More
