A very special lunch of handmade pasta, fried anchovies, house wine, and tiramisu. Gorgeous views from the hilltop. Worth seeking out. Extras like fresh podded peas, local salami, vin santo, and a postcard that will be mailed free of charge. Lovely atmosphere and great food.

We booked a cooking class at Il ciliegio through Lucette at cinque terre holidays. Lucette was very accommodative and arranged for us to have a cooking class on a sunday which they don't normally have. Our day was fantastic. Having walked up an appetite in the mornig, we started our day at 10.. the cooking class was run by Gianni... More

As a couple we experienced a cooking class at Il Ciliego. We cooked handmade pesto, swordfish parcels, zuchini salad, swordfish steaks, and tiramisu. It was an authentic Italian experience which was made incredibly charming by the hosts and their families. I would recommend it to anyone wanting an authentic Liguarian experience/meal.

Rick Steves really put the Cinque Terre on the map twenty years back, at least that's how I found out about this part of the Italian Riviera when I hiked the trail the first time in 1994. For my return visit, my dear friend Linda, who is Italian to her core, strongly encouraged Jamie W. and me to try Il... More

I was in this restaurant with my wife and another couple offriends to have a dinner to celebrate an event. We chose the restaurant because of the unique location with a fantastic view of the sunset over the northern shores of Monterosso. I can only say the waitress that served us, a young womsn from Equador was very knowledgeable of... More

One of the best meals of our 2-week stay in Italy (my daughter's top pick !). I agree with some of the reviews that the owner/waiter's behavior might be a bit surprising at times, but we took it the positive way and the meal turned out to be great. Don't miss the trofie alla spada and the trofie alle scampi... More

We ate here once because the owners offered to collect us from our B & B. THis place is only open weekends. The waiter appeared to be on the point of a breakdown, hyped up and very neutrotic-, talkiing loudly and making extravagent hand gestures, insisting he could only speak to us in french although it was clear we were... A very nice place. We were picked up at the entrance of the town by road and taken to the restaurant in a van so no worries to drink too much Cinque Terre white wine. The views are great and the food, trofie witrh Sword fish, is quite good. A place not to miss if you are visiting Cinque Terre

We weren't expecting much, as this is a highly touristed area of Cinque Terre -- but this was one of the best meals in our two week stay. Very Ligurian/Genovese -- but not limited to seafoods and pestos. We were the only table of tourists, as this is a trek up the hill. The trofie with swordfish (spada) was out... More

In my opinion (of course who else?) and after four weeks of visits to Ligurian towns and villages, Il Ciliegio is my favorite restaurant. A little hard to get to for those of us who prefer foot, train, and ferry, but I understand they will send their van. Email them and ask them to give you a ride, because it... More
