Very nice place for Italian food! We ate a starter which was great and actually enough, but then decided to go for a second main course which was still great, but almost too much. And then I even had a desert as I could not...resist it. The house wine was also good, but the red was too warm (as usual). Still, very much reocmmended.More

Went with another couple. Their food was great but my pizza never came. They didn’t understand why I was not happy. Avoid.

Me and my partner ordered our food, the starters came fairly quickly. I finished my starter which was nice enough, I nipped to the bathroom whilst my partner was still eating came back out to find our main courses dumped on the table whilst my...partner was still eating her starter. Once she rushed her starter and we both started on our mains, my carbonara was rock hard to the point where I am 90 percent sure it wasn't even cooked. My partners lasagne was more pasta than anything and not very warm or nice. Overall Service was slow and not the best, food was pretty grim. I would avoid.More

Located not so far from the Vatican this restaurant is really good with affordable prices. We got there 2 times and tried pasta, pizza, meats....everything was delicious. White wine from the house at 7 euro for a bottle (75cl). Average price pp around 15 euro....Staff is nice and there is a terrace in front of the restaurant. I recommendMore

Lovely local restaurant - Tasty Italian food & a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I visited this restaurant recently on a family adventure to Rome. The food and service was exceptional (Mario made us feel very at home). We worked our way through many dishes on the...menu (over 4 nights) and the food was delicious; especially the lasagne & wine! It’s a shame we had to return home as we all throughly enjoyed our nights spent here & finding Italian food this tasty will be hard in the U.K. The restaurant was busy with locals which is testament to the quality of food, service & comfortable atmosphere provided by the staff. If I’m ever in Italy again I’ll make sure to pop by for another Lasagne! Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable :-)More

Maybe it is our North American experience that played against us.... We went there as recommended by the condo owner we rented. The place is very good and they serve typical Italian food which really tasty... They do not speak English so much from our...experience. The food was great: lasagna, pizza and fettuccini as well! However they put the bread on the table and all you know when you pay your bill you are overcharged 5$ for the bread!!! I guess if you do not eat bread it is better to refuse it before they put on the table!!! The price were reasonable but still made by the 5euros overcharge... the only time it happened in Italy.More

Don’t pass this restaurant when in Rome! Tasty pizzas and pastas, warm and friendly service, and plenty of good wine, not to mention good Italian Cappuccinos! We felt welcome and had a good time at La Fornace! ❤️❤️❤️

5 days Rome, 4 days been here (it was also around the corner). Excellent food, good Italian card, fairly priced, nice and proffesional personal. Top. The recept is simple. Where you are, go to the place where it is busy with locals. Joost (Holland)

Best pasta I had in Rome, very nice trattoria that felt traditional and we very much enjoyed the food, the wine and the reasonable price. We had lunch here one day and dinner the next and found that the waiters can be a little gruff...to non-Italians even if you try to speak Italian (they are definitely more jovial with the locals) but it's still worth coming here.More

This is a great neighborhood restaurant with delicious food and friendly service. The portion sizes are very generous and the house wine was perfect.

This was such a great find in Prati! Extensive and reasonably priced menu, the portions were huge and the place had a real buzz to it. Our waiter was patient with our limited Italian! We arrived about 7.30 and it was quiet but within 10...minutes the place was packed with local families and had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars was because we felt quite rushed with our meal. Our main course arrived while we were still eating our starters and plates were whisked away as soon as we’d finished. Once the place was busier this was less of an issue. Food was great and it was a great place for kids.More

My wife and I dined here twice and both times were incredible. The second time, we experienced homemade lasagna which was the best I have had anywhere. The food quality is outstanding and at great prices. A full meal for 2 with a bottle of...wine, 2 entrees, bottle of water, 2 espresso, and 2 liqueurs for €38. Outstanding value as well. If we go back to Rome, we will definitely be going back for another dinner here.More

This was a great little restaurant, full of locals rather than tourists, we met up with my cousin who has lived in Rome for over 25 years. It is pretty close to the Vatican City wall, we had fantastic food and great service!

We found it accidentally, while going downstairs from Prati. It was Saturday, the restaurant was really full with Italian families, but the hosts were really skillful to find a place for us! The wine was all fitted, the dishes were really Italian, tasty, big portions....And we did not feel the lack of attention, although it was a real busy evening. Would love to have dinner here again! Highly recommend!More

The restaurant was close to where we were staying, so we tried it on the first night and ended up revisiting twice more. Night 1: ordered Gorgonzola pizza which was a little salty and out of my own fault I used too much pepper. Tried...a pizza with courgettes which was surprisingly tasty. Like other restaurants, we were charged for bread without asking (although that’s better than the next time when bread wasn’t supplied). Night 2: potentially my best meal in Rome! Pasta was incredible, mine being filled with spinach and covered in tomato sauce. My partner’s (cheese with zucchini flowers?) was gorgeous too. Night 3: I opted for the grilled chicken which came as three generous slices. Could have been more greens alongside with more flavour, but the chicken was not too dry so very edible- just needed something extra. Also, having clocked onto the bread thing, we made the most of it and devoured the lot: breadsticks were nice and bread slices were decent quality but a tad stale. Moral: Go for the pasta! Pizzas still great though.More
