Hit this neighborhood joint right after a transatlantic flight with a 4-hour delay. Needless to say we were hungry but grumpy. This place turned it all around. Wonderful presentation of a great variety of reasonably priced tapas - both hot and cold. Go for the bacon-wrapped dates! Some of the more flavorful sausages and fish did not appeal to the... More

We were in Barcelona for five nights and went to this restaurant three times. We have not really experienced tapas before and found that the staff, food and service was excellent. It was a short walk from our hotel which was even better, after spending most of the days on our feet. The selection of tapas was ample and one... More

We went there based on the reviews and there wasn't really a choice of cold tapas on the display. We ordered hot tapas - there was a huge choice of those and English menu available. They were OK but all of us found them too greasy. We had much better tapas on the first day in Ciudad Condal.

Last week when we were in Barcelona we wanted to do a Tapas tour. Rather than book an expensive tour, we decided to find a few Tapas bars and do it our self’s! The first place we stopped at was Maitea Taberna, ad it was a fantastic tapas bar! We really enjoyed the food and it really had a nice... More

Found this place through trip advisor city app. Good tapas (although everything is served on a slice of bread?! Ciabatta/french stick) you pick what you like from the cold items in the chillers on the bar and/or the hot ones from the menu. Also the waiters come around and offer you "chef's selection" so its nice to try something you... More

If you are looking for overall great food, Maitea is the place to go. This traditional, family-run restaurant breathes character the moment you walk in. Set in a great area, which illuminates a tavern feel, and a place you can relax, eat, and drink great food and wines. There are many traditional pintxos and tapas to choose from, and they... More

When ever I find a place with nothing is pretentious or trying-to-be, I put this title on my review. If you heard this place or got recommendation from someone, do not hesitate to stop by for a meal. From the service to the taste of the food is worth spending the time and money. Very informal setup, casual eating style,... More

When the guy at the front desk of our hotel suggested we try this place, his recommendation came with a rather long, amusing and romantic story of how an older woman had taken him here many years ago... And, well, nostalgia aside, he said the food was Basque-inspired pintxos, which we had never even heard of, much less tried. He... More

We were recommended this tapas bar by our hotel reception.A great find, busy, attentive, traditional and yummy! We need this kind of relaxed and fun informal eating at home. Made us realise we were on holiday. Give it a go.

We arrived early and got a table in the back right away. The beers come in small cafeteria sized glass and you pay by the toothpick for each pintxos. We were told by our concierge that the two downsides were stools, rather than backed chairs, and the staff didn't speak English. We were delighted to find that the staff spoke... More
