A small place known for pork hocks on the rotisserie. Not all that memorable, but filling, in my view.

I found Schweine Janes highly recommended on Trip Advisor and it did not disappoint. It's located on Bolkerstrasse, a lively little eating street in the Altstadt. The first thing I noticed after sitting down was all of the different cuts of pork roasting on the rotisserie behind the woman at the bar. That was definitely a good sign and made...

We had as little snack the schweine-axe with bread : just 1 dish for 2 persons and it was WONDERFULL!!!!! Thanks to Tripadvisor!!
Looks not that appealing from outside but the quality food speaks for itself. There is a menu or two inside the restaurant in English, simply pick one up - sit anywhere then order. The traditional Pork knuckle with fired sliced potatoes/onions is something else. Go try it - you won't regret it.
They constantly have the Schweinshaxe on the go here and you can eat outside, I prefer the Bratkartofeln, or roast potatoes as the side dish. I come here every time I am in Duesseldorf and you can see them take the Schweinshaxe off the griller and cut it.
This place is a real gem in the mid of the "old city" (Alt stadt). Those guys just know well what they are doing: a very well / tasty / moist / flavorful dishes! The highlight is the roasted meets that are roasted well and seasoned even better :) Really a simple and amazingly good food with no attitude! Friendly...

Discovered this place because of TripAdvisor, thank you all! To be honest, we were a little intimidated at first because we speak no German and we were unsure of the ordering/seating process. I'm glad we conquered our fear and pushed our way into the crowded doorway, it was a fantastic experience.
The restaurant was full with the expection of two...

I went to Schweine Janes after having checked TripAdvisor.
It is located in the old town of Düsseldorf, and the main dishes are made from pork, but there are also other types of meat. Some of the dishes are traditional German, but there are also some inspired by the Balkan area.
I ordered a grillteller, a plate of grilled meat,...

From the outside we would have passed it, no reservations, find a seat, share a table. The pork knuckles roasting on spits at the entrance are what you go for, served with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Simple, honest, traditional food, well served at an unbeatable price. No frills, no fuss. No desserts either but you can get those anywhere!
Went here last night on the advice of fellow Trip Advisor people(Thanks!), and I can wholeheartedly say that it was amazing! Yes, the decor is somewhat outdated but let's be honest, you come here to have juicy, tasty pork and for no other reason!
We ordered the roast pig knuckle along with another roast pork dish. Fried potatoes (I think...
