It's a small and intimate restaurant in old Vence and if you like fish you'll enjoy the fare here. Family run and always a pleasant experience !
We visited during Christmas 2012 and expected the brilliant food we had last time, a year or so ago. The very nice waitress told us there were new owners. Nothing wrong with that, but the food was not more than average this time. Hope they will recover before we try again, maybe summer 2013. This was not more than standard... More
Nice little seafood restaurant in the old city. Try the sea food hotpot its to die for. Hostess though speaks absolutely no English so a bit of a struggle getting understood if you dont speak french but worth it in the end.
We had a wonderful meal at this lovely little seafood restaurant in the old part of Vence. Had a couple of surprises but that was due to the language difference and the results were still fine. Seafood risotto was great as were the two scallop dishes and the gnocchi with scallops and pickles. Recommended to us as a fine seafood... More
It failed to live up to my expectations. It's been reviewed as excellent in several guides, but I find the menu doesn't change much over the years and tends to be over priced. However, the ownership has since changed, so things may be different.
We had the best seafood lunch it would have to be the best meal I had in France ... Family run and very friendly.
Andre and Nelly Valentin deserve all the praise they have received from past reviews of this great little fish restaurant in the centre of the old town of Vence. Andre is an expert with fish, having previously run a wet fish shop in Vence, and Nelly is a wonderfully warm hostess. My wife and I eat here twice on a... More
The restaurant specialises in fish and the quality of the food is exceptional. The chef used to work in top restaurants in London. His wife and their son did the serving. She is a very warm and welcoming, and from the moment we arrived, the whole experience, from the efficient way we were served to what we ate made this... More
The small square called Place Peyra has lots of tables and more than one restauarant. Be sure you are at the one you think! Actually, they are all fine , not write home great but pleasant, outdoors with good food and good wine at reasonable prices. Armoise is known for fish and they do it well, fresh and well presented.... More
We visited the place after the good reviews. Had various versions of the 38€ menu. Of course you cannot expect miracles for that price. Some dishes were absolutely good and tasteful, but only few were better than a good average by french standard. The"signature" dish - the Marmite was absolutely dissapointing. Apart from the "tourist trap" enormous millefeulle lid if... More
