Suggested by our hotel, this popular restaurant, in the end, seemed to completely represent our impression of Provence. Daniele owns the restaurant along with her husband. Daniele handles the front of the house, her husband, Laurent, is the chef. Daniele is an absolute delight! She speaks English, and, though busy, she found time to engage in conversations with us. She... More

Lovely setting sitting outside in a very small square next to a fountain. Service was friendly and cheerfully conducted in English (which is not very common). The food - particularly the fish - was sublimely good. All together, a delightful meal. More

Food was very average. Service was friendly and there was a buzzy atmosphere. More

The front desk staff at Le Mozart (where we stayed in Aix) recommended this place to us and also advised that we make reservations. We found the place easily enough and made reservations for later in the evening. When we returned at around 8pm every table was full or had a reserved sign and we got a table outdoors like... More

I think my title sums up everything I have to say. We were pleasantly surprised at the copious plates put in front of us for lunch and the very good, quick and friendly service. Thumbs up! More

This was one of the best restaurants we met in Provence. Excelent food, marvelous wines, good price, very nice staff. Perfect! You must stop here if you´re in the neigbourhood. More

We enjoyed a good provencal dinner here. It is solidly delicious regional food and the service was decent. It wasn't 'amazing', but I am not opposed to going back. More

We just returned from Chez Grand Mere after having a very disappointing dinner. Our waitress was very rude and the food mediocre. I would not recommend this restaurant, as there are many better in Aix. More

The interior of this restaurant which was recommended by our hotel, looked like the Paris hotel in Las Vegas - painted scenes of Provence. Our initial uncertainty because of that was quelled by the good service and great food. We sat inside because of threatening rain, and found it a bit stuffy. Food was plentiful and well prepared. I would have had a second meal at this restaurant if I had spent more time in Aix. Good regional cooking with a twist. The dessert of fruit gazpacho was sublime! More
