We have been fortunate to visit Aix eight times over the past 11 years, and have dined in many of the excellent restaurants in the city. This remains our favorite. The staff is friendly, the room is comfortable, and the chef/owner is putting out delicious food at a decent price. The place is small, so I would highly recommend making... More

If you want to drop by without prior reservation, do come early. The Poivre d'Ane attracts a cosmopolitan "clientele" for its service, its quality ingredients, cooking and presentation. A very fine dining experience with fine wines too... More

We were very impressed with the food here. I compared to Le Bernadin in NYC. If you are looking for a traditional French meal you won't find it here. Everything is an innovative twist that is done extremely well. The chef came and spoke with us and he was passionate about his cooking. It shows. The wait staff were very... More

My husband and I went with my parents on a cooler September evening. First impressions were great - the service was impeccable and I thought providing cosy fleece ponchos for customers feeling chilly was a lovely touch. The meal was very good and we enjoyed the range of aperetifs (i loved my 'Colombo Orange'). The pork shoulder was excellent- the... More

At first glance, this appears to be a bistro, like the others in the Place. It isn't, it is a top quality restaurant serving fantastic food. Cooking was perfect and the menu (we chose the discovery menu) well-balanced and had a local feel. Wine list was not over-priced. Service was great and the appearance of the food easily the equal... Our hotel recommended Le Poivre D'Ane, and it was great. My husband and I visited on a lovely late summer night and both had terrific meals. Beginning with my salad, the plates were works of art and wonderfully inventive. The ingredients were exceeding fresh and the flavor combinations demonstrated the expertise of the kitchen. We each had the three course... More

Went there today, after searching for other trip advisor tips, but they were all closed (it is a Sunday). Staff was nice and served us even though it was passed 10 pm. I chose the codfish with foie gras and risotto, what a disappointment! Codfish had no taste at all (I had to put salt on it!!) and, until now,... More

Well executed cooking, well presented. Sitting outside in the square meant it was a little dark as the evening drew on ......... hard to see the plates! (maybe they need to buy more IKEA table lamps). Unpretentious nouvelle cuisine, fair prices. Menu identical to the website. No hesitation to suggest you pay a visit. Better than some higher rated places... More
