Me & my husband decided to try the Shalimar out as we hadn't been for about 15 years and it didn't disapoint! The service was exceptional and the food was divine the starters were amazing and the main course was just as good. The surroundings were clean, comfortable and relaxing we will definatly be returning here very soon!

Below average staff, food and hospitality. Didn't feel any effort from staff members, and the food was not quite right.

Although I cant comment on the restaurant inside the food is beautiful! Had a takeaway from here just the other night. Could not fault it at all, for 6 of us costing around £70 starters popa doms and pickles, 6 mains rices and naans plus they even threw in a bottle of red! Definately going to try booking a table... I do visit other restaurants (even Indian ones) in the Derby area however the Shalimar remains NUMBER ONE for me, its almost like going home! Please keep up the good work and I'll see you soon!!!

Went to the Shalimar on valentines nite and wasn't disappointed. Although quite busy the food was superb. Excellent choice and plenty of it. Service was excellent and you felt you were a valued customer. All in all an excellent nite out and would recommend the Shalimar to anyone who enjoys good Indian food.

Went for a meal on a cold miserable Monday night in February - the food was brilliant, the portions huge, the staff cheery and friendly - all in all it was a lovely experience for dinner. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone
