Description: Ard Bia at Nimmos restaurant in Galway City enjoys one of Galways most romantic locations in a gorgeous upstairs room with lovely views of the river, hard by the Spanish Arch. This restaurant is famous in Galway and beyond for the stupendous quality of its cuisine and its professional and welcoming service, all in a charming setting. The dcor is rustic boho chic with quirky details. You might find fresh local garden blooms on your table in a tin coffee pot, for instance. The seasonally-changing Irish/Moroccan/North African eclectic menu blows you away with dishes like the Gubeen antipasto dish, all made with the finest and freshest of local ingredients. Ard Bias commitment to live and modern art make it a happening place, though if you just want to come for the great food and service and see why the restaurant won Regional Restaurant of the Year from Food & Wine Magazine, no one will mind.

Had lunch here on a Sunday and was ery impressed with the food served. Fresh, locally sourced foods seem to be Ard Bia's speciality and my lunch of halloumi with poached eggs, potato cake, spinach and hollandaise sauce was delicious! My girlfriend had a similar dish but with baked ham. I would also recommend the freshly squeezed juices available, I... More

Country style artsy decor. Vegan/vegetarian options available. Almost all items on the menu are made with locally grown organic produce. Quaint and cozy. Great date spot or a comfortable place to read a book and have some tea. Friendly people and great service.

Had dinner here with work and it was really good. Everyone got something different and the food was amazing. It was a tiny bit cramped but that I suppose is the ambiance. Dying to try out the breakfast that everyone is raving about.... I will be back again.....

The location couldn't be better ; right on the banks of the Corrib and neighboring Claddagh Basin ........next door to The Spanish Arch; this is an awesome little gem with squeaky floors, small tables, rustic décor, oozing charm. Service is stellar only outdone by the wonderful food. Menu is eclectic;ingredients are, however locally - and mostly - organically sourced. We... More

Definitely my favorite restaurant in Galway. When you walk into this unpretentious little house right on the docks you find yourselves surrounded by an incredible feel-like-home atmosphere, with the white furniture and dishes and mugs your grandma would have bought in the '60s. Then you are treated (usually with good care from the staff) with some really delicious food. They... More

This little gem should not be missed when you are in Ireland, not just Galway. The place sits right on the river, with the sound of water rushing past. Every course was a dining experience. I didn't have to say prepare the lamb medium rare, they knew how to make it perfectly. Roasted rhubarb dessert was a total palette pleaser.... More

My partner and I had been here on a previous trip to Galway and decided to go again on another trip to Galway with friends. Where to start! I had an amazing dressed crab dish for my starter which was sublime. My main was lamb with harissa and white beans... I was in absolute heaven. My mates and partner all... More

This cafe was recommended by our hostel as a great cafe and it didn't disappoint. Most of us had the 'Full fry' with fresh black pudding, still warm from the pan.I was after a flat white which didn't quite come out right, but the rest of the food was great. They even sell cakes and scones which, at 10am we got... More

Food was fabulous, really enjoyed it,however I have concerns about hygiene level there, hubbys sandwich came on wooden board, with a big cack down the centre of same,a haven for bacteria, also pottery had chips on edges, another haven for bacteria.I would also be concerned about the uncovered dessserts inside the door, which are located near the toilets. Atmosphere was buzzing, very buzy, staff nice, a nice quirky... More
