Have missed Cava since it's gone and longed for a bit of tapas and vino so my wife and I gave Lunares a go. We went on a Sunday evening and there was a great buzz - lots of chat, good music, brightly painted walls and incredible staff. It is a family run affair I think and looks as though... More

I've been here twice now, both times with my other half. This place is different to Cava's mainly in that their prices are lower and that their portions are larger, and I firmly believe the food is more authentic spanish. We have tried the soup de castellana, which was very good, kind of like a minestrone soup. Chorizo in cider,... More

Wow where do I start. Soup was bland. Chriozo not cooked properly. Bread was stale. Pork was burnt, as in literally charred. I dont know how they burnt it since it was dripping with oil. Just back from lunch/tapas in lunares- my first but definitely not the last visit! Food was really scrumptious, we had a living social voucher for paella + wine for two, but brought the kids along so also had some tapas. Great plates and super variety, something for everyone, really nice waitress and very authentic- if it wasn't for the dreary... More

Great food, great atmosphere and at a good price. I left full. The garlic shrimps were spectacular. The food was authentic and reminded me of Spain. I will definately be back.

Went to Lunares on Valentines night with my girlfriend, not that they were doing anything overly special for the night just because we were in Galway for the night and both love tapas! We've been to a number of tapas restaurants in different places but I must say I found here to be very authentic. The food was top notch.... More

We had a great lunch here the tapas was very authentic, inexpensive and plentiful- we were surrounded by Spanish people which can only be a good sign. The staff were very helpful and informative too.
