This old established restaurant has not changed the menu for many years and is still good despite the fact that they still serve the smokies followed by duck for as long as I can remember and that dates back to the original John O'Byrne Restaurant. I still think its worth a visit and is still a lunchtime institution. The food... More

We went to Dobbins for Christmas lunch. The set lunch was €29. The food was lovely, with a large choice in each course. The fish and chips (with pea puree and tarter sauce) was really nice - though there were only 3 (chunky) chips per portion. The staff were efficient and friendly. Dobbins is tucked away in a little street... More

I visit this restaurant twice a year and the experience has been consistently excellent. It starts with the friendly staff managing the bookings and continues with their courteous attention throughout the evening. The quality of the food is superb, with menu choices that are exciting and different. They also cater for vegetarians as part of their normal service. It is... More

I have lunched twice in Dobbins recently and found that it still maintains very high standards. In particular the quality of the seafood from the classic prawn cocktail, to Dover sole etc makes me look forward every time I have a need to dine out. Don't let the hidden location put you off it will be worth it. More
